HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DOUGIE!

HE WAS BORN ON MY GRANDPA BUDDY'S BIRTHDAY.

APRIL FIRST- HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DOUGIE DOODLE!
MY PHOTO ALBUMS ARE IN A TRUNK IN MY CLOSET AND THIS IS ALL I COULD FIND THIS AFTERNOON- NOT REAL GOOD QUALITY.
DOUG WILL BE 28 TOMORROW! (AND I WAS 4 WHEN I HAD HIM, LOL)

The peonies are coming up and the lilies are getting bigger. The grass has turned a little greener and starting to grow. Limb came down over the weekend. Steve had tried out a new blade and cut it 2/3 through and gave up on it. Later we found it on the ground. Its been windy here. Yesterday was a nice afternoon to be outside- but not for long. Still a bit nippy.
My stepmom emailed me Sunday and said they had green in the trees- can't wait for it here.

WHILE I WAS OUT TAKING PICTURES THIS MORNING, BEBE HAD OTHER IDEAS.
I TOLD HIM IT HAD RAINED YESTERDAY AND THEY DIDN'T NEED ANY MORE WATER, BUT I GUESS HE THOUGHT THEY LOOKED A LITTLE DRY.

We woke to a heavy frost this morning, but its slowing fading and the sun is out.
Should be up to almost 60 this afternoon.
Got Steve off to work and Ruthie off to school and the pill down the dog.
Need to hit the shower and see what needs done around here first.

BeBe is home and doing fine- looks like he did a major battle- and they had to put him under- so he is still a little stoned.
He's on antibiotics for 10 days and I can take the stitches out then too.
Craig said he looks like a chemo patient.
He is so glad to be home.
Horatio's mom came and got him right away- and he will go up for adoption again- but to now to a home with no other animals.

BeBe is in surgery now- needs stitches from a dog attack late this afternoon- Horatio locked onto him and would not let go. I called his former owner and they came and picked him up. He will not be here anymore.
BeBe was calmed down and doing good- just needs a few stitches and should be fine in a week.
It could have been a lot worse.
No more dog looking for us- BeBe will have to deal with the cats.

If this weather keeps up the Easter Bunny will be wearing long johns.

SNOW-- I'm not a happy camper!
The grass is greening up and the mower is still in the shop.
Just think- in 2 weeks we will be mowing.

My friend, Mary, from Ohio emailed me last night on how to set up a blog like this one. I emailed her back telling her how and can't wait to see how she does with hers. Hey- Mary- if you didn't get the email- call me and we can do it over the phone!

What do you do on a rainy, cold afternoon in a little bitty town??? You annoy your animals... and dress them up in funny coats. Loki slept through the dogs playing and chasing squeaker toys.

Ruthie and the new baby.
He got his bath this afternoon.

Our Jersey didn't work out here, but she has a wonderful new home and they renamed her Gypsie.
They really love her and she is doing good!
The lady has had 2 other Shih Tsus and knows their traits and what she will be like- so that will be a lot easier on all of them adjusting.
Ruthie is bonding with Horatio and they are both asleep in the rocking chair now.
This is Knuckles when he was a little guy- listen for the big bang at the end- he was always easily distracted by the birds outside. This was as hard as he could ever play- I know they always say rest in peace- but I hope he is running and playing like he never could- and the bangs don't hurt anymore.
The top photo is all our kids- Doug, Tiff, Craig holding Knuckles and Ruthie

This morning, we lost our beloved Knuckles- he was born with congestive heart failure and was on water pills twice a day for awhile now for an enlarged heart.
He had a normal early morning and after eating and getting his morning pill- he retired to my bedroom for a nap. His heart quit beating and he is now free to run and play like he never could do with his frail body.
He was 2 years old and should never have lived that long. He liked ice cream- chocolate was his favorite and had acquire a taste for BBQ pringles.
When he was a baby, he loved swimming in the bird bath-and in another post I will find the video of him playing with his favorite toy- a little duck, who soon after the video- had no stuffing left in it at all.
I named him knuckles because when he was a baby- he had white knuckles- but he grew out of that and then people wondered why I gave him such a dumb name. But he liked it.
Craig and Ruthie buried him with the rest of our extended family in the back yard- and Steve had to go for a drive alone.
We bottle fed him- he was the only one in the litter to make it here- and the ones who come in alone bond the best with the humans. That he did do. He will be forever missed.

Craig, Ruthie and their friend, Ben on their first date. ( 2 years ago!)
Time flies when they are having fun.

Good morning- feeling a little better today but didn't get much sleep last night- so sometime in the near future I'm going back to bed for awhile.
Looks like rain today and tomorrow- so maybe we'll get some of the spring cleaning done- and then we may just lay around all weekend and eat and watch movies.
Have a great weekend!

The first pic should be Craig topless- Ruthie got this just after his shower- he got sick in class yesterday and come home last night- think he was just dehydrated.
The next one should be Miss Pickles and her reaction to the new dog. This could take some time to get used to the idea of another dog.
The other pics are potty time this afternoon-
Ruthie has had tummy problems the last 2 days and at 4am I hit the bathroom for my marathon. Called my neighbor and she started in about 4am also- so something is going around for sure.

This is our new buddy- Horatio- him and BeBe hit it off right away so we are going to foster Jersey.

Ruthie got a closeup of the crocus- I can't get that low anymore- and another pile of bricks the guys hauled in this weekend- and I got ideas!

Craig's flower bed a couple years ago- last year's was destroyed by flood- he replanted and then it got so dry- they just didn't do well.
He has had his own bed since he was 2 years old.
He picks his own out every year.
He loves rosemoss. And he likes all different colors.

Its getting closer to that time again and we can't wait. Vintage seed packs are one of my favorite things.
