It's been an interesting day...

the snow began to disappear...
the swing is waiting on us...

there will be a lot to do in about 8 weeks...

these are waiting, too...
but there is green inside...
the wreath is from the funeral...I am going to save it for fall...and the books are just some of Craig's for this semester...
there is some green here, too, now...
then the guys went over to Terri's to help move a whole entertainment/bookcase built-in that Andy and Terri have been working on...they also helped move the living room furniture back in...and Terri sent these books home for me...I should have gone over, too,...but Steve had to lance a boil for me this morning...and its in a really bad place...and you don't need to know anymore...so I declined...
you know...this is just going to give me more ideas...and I did attempt to make a little snowman...the snow wouldn't pack...oh well,...hopefully I won't get the chance to do it again until next year...
Have a peaceful afternoon...

Watch it play forward and then watch it as it is read backward- its amazing how the same lines mean two different things depending on which lines you read first...

Winter Fun:

Kyle made a baby snowman for his baby girl...isn't that just the sweetest thing? He sure is a good dad.
Her mom did a good job making sure she didn't get frost bit, too.
I am inspired!
I can't make a big snowman any more, but if I get up the nerve, I may have a short little guy on the porch before the weekend is over...

When the great white silence comes and fills the boughs of the trees with a thickening, glistening brilliance, and all is cold and barren, where be the blossom? It is in the memory. It is in the wisdom. It is in the growth of last spring, and it is coming forth again. For when the season has turned and winter is gone, the buds come again, and behold, there is another blossom.
If the ongoingeness of life is beheld in a single blossom, why do you think that you are less that its life? Do you think that you only bloom in sping, produce your fruit in summer, drop your leaves in autumn and then die in winter? But are you not greater than the greatest blossom? Is not your life more important? Indeed it is. And as the blossoms continue to bloom every spring, so will you live, life after life.
What a story your blossoms could tell of all the seasons you've seen.

My son...without all the hair...
he is on his way outside to take some photos...hard telling what he'll find...

Just had to stretch my legs a little...I opened the front door...and decided to do it inside...

the weather outside...
our new fridge...
so far, so good...

I had wanted a bottom freezer so bad...and knew I didn't want a side by side...and no water or ice in the door...if you only knew all the mold that grows in those...no one would have them...and I was going to go black...then Rebecca said that they show every single fingerprint...smudge...they are so hard to keep clean and shiny...so I picked white...and in an emergency...my biggest concern was "cold"...

a box of fun I bought off of Rebecca...she sent me photos of her booth...big mistake...look what I found...when I get back in the mood...I will show you what I'm going to do with these...
Craig and I washed out these two little bottles many times before we got them clean...the statice are from a fresh arrangement...they make wonderful dried flowers...
the plants from the funeral home are all wonderful...and cheery...and green!
the ivy is fun...
Bebe trying to nap...
Georgie and Mr Wiggles like to snuggle on cold, cloudy days..

There comes a point in your life when you realize:

Who matters,
Who never did,
Who won't anymore....
And who always will.
So, don't worry about people from your past,
there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future...
I just got this in an email from Terri S.
This is so true...God not only sends what we need...but who we need...each time in our life when we are trying to stand on legs that are too shaky to carry us...when we need a kind word...when we need a hug...
If we were to think of everything we receive each day, from a smile from a stranger, someone holding a door, a hug from a friend...like it was God himself right there in front of us...maybe our days would be brighter...less stressful...more happy...
The next time when the phone rings...will He be on the other end?
Then, what if we acknowledge Him as we say a thank you to others? Just go ahead and include Him in it, too. He can hear your thoughts...
If we were more aware of His presence...maybe we would find out He is always there...
Just like He said He would be...
Before I could get this posted...I got a call...the phone rang...I smiled...and it was a political phone call...LOL...He even has a sense of humor!

I posted these on the other blog this morning...

Can you imagine? Someone needs to make these sleighs again. I think people would buy them.

If you're local, the food pantry needs plastic bags:

Kyle called earlier in the week and asked if Craig could help him and his church out tonight at the food pantry. Craig had classes late this afternoon, but went straight there to help out until 7pm. I got an email from Kathy today saying they needed plastic bags, so I had Steve take up what we had on his way to the store.
It's getting colder here, around 12 now...
My son in Kentucky, family in southern Missouri and Dad and stepmom are in for 4-10 inches of snow with sleet tonight and tomorrow...
Glad we are north of all of that and pray that they will get through it ok...
I have already had my shower and Steve and I watched a show on potatoes on the history channel tonight...
It was pretty interesting...I am going to start looking for purple and pink potatoes...probably couldn't afford them if I could find them...but we had no idea they even existed...we learn something new every day...
have a good night...

some more photos that were on my camera and some fun things...

one of the plants from the funeral...its huge...
been playing around...
my new kitchen curtains...they let all the light in...
some of my fun things...

I learned something new today...isn't it too fun???
this is what I have been doing on my housecleaning breaks...beats watching tv...or talking on the phone...or just about anything else...
Ben called for Craig and we talked awhile...called Jackie...other than that, its just me and the cats, the dog and the train that went through...
Have a fun day!

'Tis a cold morning out there...

Craig is going to freeze his ears off today...but its sunny!

I have photos...

Doug and Tiff got this for me for Christmas...he's my favorite actor...of course...
and this nutcracker basket...
this is Craig last night...he stopped in at Great Clips and got his hair cut...finally...
it snowed...and was still snowing when I took this...
it dusted everything...it stuck to every little branch...
I decided to just plug my camera in...and guess what happened???...I have other programs to download photos...I didn't need that other disc at all!!!

Can't sleep because I forgot to take my cold medicine fun...

I love vintage bunnies...
and all the vintage colors...
and every victorian child...and the clothes...
I found all the vintage postcards on ebay...and then I added a few things...changed some of the colors...flattened it all...it keeps me out of trouble...

a very vintage valentine postcard...

We got a dusting this afternoon...

Wish I could post a photo...but I can't...but it is so pretty...just wish we didn't have the cold weather coming in with it...how many more days until spring???...too many...that's how many...the older I get the longer the winters seem...and the more I want to get back to gardening...watering...even weeding...but with the funeral flowers...I have 3 big green plants inside...if I can keep the cats out of them...the fresh flowers are done...Doofus chewed off my paper whites from Terri before they bloomed...I was not happy with him at all...but he doesn't know...he's just being Doofus...we knew he was "different" when we kept him...
Have a good night and stay warm and dry...hope you caught a few snow flakes on your tongue...I did...

Booth news...

Rebecca is moving her booth at Copper Eagle and then I will send in more stuff for her to put in my cabinet. Can't wait for new pics to post when she gets the move done.
Its always good to keep things moved around so there are different things at eye level. Most people only buy from eye level.
She has sold 41 decorating and gardening magazines this month already.
With the economy like it is, why pay full price when you can pick them up for $1?

Vintage fun...

The two in the middle are heart shaped pin cushions and the rest are vintage valentine candy boxes...that at one time held chocolate...one of my favorite things...
