hopefully our last warm day...

yesterday while we were rearranging the deck area...
I put spent hydrangea in the bird cage...
the little petunia had passed away...
and this morning the table was covered with little leaves...
my first leaf pile!...
I cut some spent cone flowers to stick in the can in tea pot...
they will finish aging here...
this is a frame to a broken mirror given to me by a friend...
I like the detail...
and with cooler weather coming...
this can be painted white to go inside somewhere...
it was a little hot already on the deck and not much of a breeze...
so we headed to the other side...
and I caught Mr Wiggles pooping in the fire pit...
bad kitty...
my pink rose...
this is the one we will be moving soon...
can you imagine that we had half a can of paint just sitting around?...
the bottoms are out of these, but they will make good planters next year...
and finally, this poor old screen is getting some attention...
we just did lunch and the guys have a football game on...
I have other plans for them, by golly...
we need to do some work in here...
but we are basically at a standstill...
we found another couch at the city wide rummage sales on Friday...
so now we have 2 couches and three recliners in my living room...
all of Doug's boxes...
the rest of our stuff...
he moves into his apartment after the first of the month...
Tuesday is his court date for the divorce...
he is so ready to move on...
all the extra furniture and dishes and junk I have been hanging onto...
will be going with him...
then we will be able to walk through here without taking out a knee or a shin...
this will probably be the last week the four of us will ever be under the same roof...
and as much as I will miss him...
it's going to be a very good thing...
hope you all are having a great weekend and that your weather is perfect!
take time today to share a laugh, a hug and a smile today!

  1. Hi Tete-thank you so much for your sweet comments. I really needed that today! And thank you for following me.
I know all about moving kids. I had one move out last winter and now my daughter graduated from college and moved back in. The old revolving door! You do miss them, but it is kinda nice to have the house to yourself for as long as it lasts. It's so hard to be able to afford being on your own today.

  2. Hi Tete-me again-you are right...that's what it is-the good old innkeeper blues. I do get over it pretty quickly. And there is plenty to do...including spending time with my grandsons which is hard to do during the season. And after the empty feeling leaves you really appreciate the down time and there are lots of projects to do. And I'm so glad that I started blogging......

  3. Tete, I love the vignettes on your deck - simply beautiful, as are the scattered leaves. So sorry about Doug. I hope all goes well for you and your family.
    Blessings, Beth
