yep, that's me...
see our silver tree?
and my new rocking chair?
I even got a tea set and a new doll that year that roller skated..
there is even a Santa on the tv...
that little telephone was by Mattel...
it had records that you put in the side and could hear someone talking to you...
the other chair and stuff on the left was for my brother...
oh my look...
there's even an etchasketch...
everyone of those toys sparked imagination...
and notice we didn't get the whole toy store either...
and we were so excited...
because we didn't get toys all the time...
and we took care of what we had...
Santa didn't wrap presents...
mom and dad did...
but not Santa...
you know, most of the boxes were gone, too...
have a good day!
I love all your toys and remember them well. I'm looking for a silver tree like that. We had one in the 70's and I have always loved the. I have a 2-3 foot one in NC but I would love to have a 5 ft tree. Take care.
ReplyDeletewhat a great picture! Looks like my childhood! Your right...we only got presents or toys twice a yr, bday and christmas! And u did take care of them, that is why I still have most of mine!
ReplyDeleteSanta did not wrap mine either. I need to find the pic of me in front of the tree in MY rocking chair with all my presents, I am laughing and so happy my legs are almost up in the air!
Going to stop by the booth today when I get home!
Good morning Tete! What a great picture, your Christmases sounded a lot like ours! We didn't get toys all the time either. Christmas, Birthdays and maybe if we saved our allowance.
ReplyDeleteBoy that brought back memories! I had some of those toys too! And the silver tree. I think everyone went through that phase. Now they're coming back! And the old ones are collectable! Martha Stewart even had one on TV yesterday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet picture. Yep...we got toys at Christmas and birthdays too. I wish I had some of my old ones...I have a few but not many. Thanks for sharing this part of your childhood here. Hugs-Diana
