Someone's knockin' at the door...my prince has come...

we had a late night visitor tonight...
I think he's cuter than Kermit...
I love his light shade of green...
look how wet he is...we didn't have any rain at all today...
he's a beautiful toad...
but I'm not kissing him...
they taste bad...
and he's not malformed! like the ones in the news...
I took this from the inside...
I hope he gets fat on all those bugs out there...

My dad...

I called my dad for Father's Day.
It was interesting.
He's in the army now going to school to fix motors.
They build them there.
He's been busy redoing 2 of the apartments there with another guy and they redid both inside and out.  It took a couple months to do it.
It's cold there- 70.
He lives on the railroad.
There are boxcars and a two story train.
But he still knows who I am.
He remembers my boys.
And he told me he greatly appreciates every piece of mail I send him.
He is 75...never in the army...he was in the air force...
he lives in a nursing home now after his stroke...
it's 96 there...
I don't think there's a railroad close...
but it's all ok...he's happy...
I don't think he could handle being there in his right mind...
he lives in his happy place...
and it's all real to him...
and he's still my dad...
just a little more colorful...

for my father in law...

Yellow roses grow in heaven, Lord pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my father's arms and tell him they're from me.
Tell him that I love and miss him.
When he turns to smile place a kiss upon his cheek & hold him for awhile,
because remembering him is easy, I ...do ...it every day.
There's ...an ache... in my heart that will never go away.

another steamy day...

Steve and I sat outside this morning...the cushions were wet with dew...
yep...got the behinds wet...
but it was worth it...we lost power this morning at 6:10...
bu they had it back on by 7:30...
portulaca...
the wonder japanese beetles...
this is what they do to the ferns...
the aftermath of the bon fire...
they disbanded about 12:30 this morning...
they had a good time...
in her sunspot...
but it's too hot for sunspots today...
she opted out for the shade...
hope you all get to enjoy Father's Day...
cookin' out and just spending time together...
and for those of you whose dads have gone on to a better place...
may your memories encircle you like a warm hug and make you smile...
