I haven't felt this good for a couple months now...
we started out picking pears this morning...
this is our haul and we picked 2 pull walmart bags for the food pantry that Craig took up this evening...
these have not been sprayed at all!
my mom used to make the best homemade apple sauce ever...
and I am thinking maybe I could make homemade pear sauce this weekend...
going to wrap some in newspapers and put in a bushel basket, good thing I'm a dealer and have those hanging out here, and store them in the shed this fall...
things are winding down in the flower beds...
spider webs are taking over...
even the pots are looking tired...
the cone flowers are seeding...
I worked a little out in the front bed...
this has been watered, but it's still dry as dust...
we ended up with a cart full of stuff...
just the back side of one bed...
spruced up the table a bit...
the sedum have blushed...
and the bees are happy...
a mad dash to get there stores in before winter...
fixed the brick path while I was out here, too...
had a root pushing up 3 of the bricks and it had become a tripping hazard...
so pulled them up real quick, cut that root out, re leveled it and popped them back in...
pulled the weeds out of the pathway and swept that...
cleaned house and Craig did his laundry...
had left overs tonight for supper...
so no fancy cooking needed...
after Steve got home, we picked part of a bag of pears for Kyle and Gretchen...
was talking to him on the phone and he said she loved them...
so he came by here on his way home to pick...
Steve and I went out to wait on him, but it was drizzling, so we went over and had them picked before he got here, so we just handed them off to him in the street...
they were going out to eat so he was in a hurry to get home...
we had supper then and DH and I went for a short drive around town...
I miss driving in the rain...
always loved going to work on rainy days...
shopping on rainy days...
just love driving on rainy days...
I know most people think I am nuts, but for me, it's very calming...
and there you have the highlights of the day...
hope you had a good one, too...

ReplyDeleteSounds like a very nice day. Doesn't seem like summer was around very long in your area. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI am sooo happy to hear you had a good day Tete!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou sure got a lot done!
Your yard still looks so nice...even if things seem to be seeding and drying out.
Great pics today.
smooches.
Tete-Well, I know you are feeling good when I see a post like this! I just hope that you didn't overdo it in your busy-as-a-bee day!
ReplyDeleteI love driving in the rain too...a nice rain...not a downpour. I don't even mind driving in a light snow..but then I always was a crazy broad! xo Diana
Hi Tete, The pears are beautiful. So glad for your abundance and that's kind of you to share. I had a great day yesterday too. Weather was beautiful and still is. Spent a lot of time at the animal shelter loving up the dogs. My garden is past peak and I've lost enthusiasm for working out there.
