its a new world's record!

at approximately 0900 hours...
the mission began...

notice the lap blanket under the grill...
my idea...
no scratches...

meanwhile...
I came in to warm up...

and I popped in and out every now and then...

as the hours ticked away...

another check on progress...
still some parts to go...

but they kept at it...

and after studying the manual for hours last night...
DH still went by the book...
now, I am the kind of gal who can look at a picture and sit down and assemble it...
not DH...
you have no idea how hard it is for me to keep my mouth shut when he goes by the book...
no idea...
but I am getting better at it...
and instead of offering "ideas" on making things move along a little faster...
I took the job of screw girl when it was offered...
he would read off what he needed and I would count out the exact amount and with mouth firmly shut, hand them over...
and then I came back in again...

at around noon, 2 fellers walked into my house and announced the mission was complete and they were finished...
asstounded, to say the least...
I grabbed the camera and walked outside, only to find that they were not finished...
sure the grill was together...
(I picked it out)
but they had failed to do the clean up...
so they came back out and it was all put back in the box for trash guy to nab on Monday...
so there you go...
manual said 1 hour...
my guys did it in 3!
its a new record and they are proud...

so, since there was daylight left...
bwahahaha!
we got this done...

just itching to plant something...
and I think I need a frog sitting on that rock...

this is a water feature...
but the pump gave out and until I get another one...
it can sit here...
but, just might drill some holes in the bottom...
and plant some wave petunias in there...

  1. Well you are full of great gardening ideas and I agree, a frog is needed for sitting on the rock. Be proud of your men and their assembly of The Grill!

  3. Hooooray for The Old Boy and The Young'un! And does it work? THAT is the true test, you know! I am proud of them...and proud of you. I have a hard time not offering my 2 cents worth because I am like you and can see right through to the guts of something and get it done pronto...rather than drag it out to the nth level.

I love your little corner, Tete. I say keep your water feature and tell THE BOYS that you want a pump for Mother's Day. Let's hope they don't supply you with a breast pump....just sayin.... Love to you-xo Diana

  4. LOL Diana, a breast pump.
Mine would probably bring home a 3/4 hp pump and wonder why I didn't want it, "It would pump lots of water"...

I understand, I usually put the things together, because doing it together leads to words spoken that would be better left unsaid.
    Enjoy a steak for me.

  5. So funny, Tete! I'M usually the one telling Hubby to "go by the book...!!!!!". But nooooooo. He never listens. Can't teach a teacher anything, ya know... :) But I'm glad that your men got it all together and now you can grill out for Easter dinner so you won't have to cook! lol!

Praying that you all have a joyful and blessed Easter, Tete!
