Meet the brat pack...

no names yet...
but here they are...

and here is the miracle baby...
yep, he made it through the night and by yesterday afternoon, could climb up the side of the cage...
but this one has bloody diarrhea...
a sign of coccidia...
so we are treating with Albon, a sulfer based antibiotic...
7 days on, 7 days off and 7 days back on again to kill the eggs that hatch later...
so, if we can keep this one hydrated and fed, and if the parasite hasn't done too much damage to the intestines and we can get the stools hardened back up...
he should be fine...
he is a fighter...
fierce and he lets you know it...
complains about everything and swipes at everyone...
he was only breathing every 3 minutes the other night...
but the heart was strong and sound...
I was afraid of brain damage, but when he made it through the night, we started in again on him...
I was out of pedialite...
and our grocery store closes at 8pm...
so I gave it Powerade Zero- grape flavor...
its what I drink and its full of electrolites...
it worked better than the pedialite and its only a dollar a bottle...
and we always have it here...
so remember that if you have a sick one around...

finally getting some sleep around here and need to get caught up on the house...
don't want to spend all weekend in here...
we have rain moving in...
mower guy coming tomorrow...
DH working Sunday this week...
harvest has begun!
he worked over last night...

Tori did get to go home!
she has a long road ahead of her...
keep her in your prayers...
but God is so good to his kids...
He is watching over her...

Have a great weekend!

  1. AAAAwwwww....well, this entry touched my heart. I am sure, too, that God watches over the animals over whom He has give us charge.

  7. Oh goodness, we have 4 little ones, one is sneezing, all have eye problems and one may have to have an eye removed. I give antbiotics, put on eye salve and worry about them. Hope yours will thrive, they are so cute. Wish more people would understand that we have a responsibility to God's creatures.
