these are the backs of the houses on Main Street...
I took these while DH was putting gas in the truck for our ride about...
you see things every day, but do you really see them?
The Oaks Manor, a senior living facility fairly new to our town...
and expensive...
not sure if anyone lives here now or not...
and one last look before we take off...
these are on Main Street, too...
do you know what they are?
its what's left of the old St Clair gas station that served so many here years ago...
some of the tin sheeting is peeling up town on one of the oldest buildings left...
then it was off to the state park...
this is the bridge going out of town...
so out of order...
and now the park again...
it was snowing yesterday...
been spitting snow for about four days...
but it was just warm enough to melt most of it as it fell...
but it was wet yesterday and stuck to things...
and it came in sideways...
our state is so broke...
all of the employees here have lost their jobs...
there is only one man working this park now...
and he does this one and one other...
must be a lonely time for him...
our ranger who has managed this park for years took his retirement...
he went to school with DH and they graduated in '73, so he took it early...
native prairie grasses...
this area is all planted in native plants...
and after what seems likes weeks of cloudy days...
the skies are blue this morning and the sun is shining brightly...
so off we go to do this area again...
because there is so much more to show you...
;)
Hi Tete, I enjoyed these snow pictures, I like the snow covered picnic table. Sad how the park employees lost their jobs, except for the lone worker.
ReplyDeleteI love your snowy scenes. So sad that our government makes all the wrong cutbacks. Cut foreign aid for two years and I bet we would start to see the black rather than red!
ReplyDeleteI love all the photos of houses too. Very cool.
Enjoy the week and stay warm!
Beautiful pics as always! So sorry for all the state/federal employees. We have had snow here for about four days.. comes and goes.. melts and covers again.. so ready for Spring. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThank you for a glance at your part of the world, I love those houses.
ReplyDeleteSad that we throw money away on some things, but glorious parks that people can enjoy, get their caretakers let go.
