started out this morning washing a tarp we found last weekend...
and then the car and truck...
and just as soon as we were finished...
we had to do a touch up...
Mr Wiggles, muddy paws and all...
decided it was the perfect moment to slide down the front of the windshield...
roses are still blooming away...
after the tarp was dry, we took the blue ones down and put the tan one up...
on the backside of the deck...
to keep out the rain...
there used to be a very old saying...
the corn needed to be knee high by the fourth of July...
now its...
head high by the fourth of July...
and that it is...
DH's willow tree...
he loves that tree...
I started that from a tiny stick...
and then, late afternoon, the grilling began...
while I did my oh, so needed, manicure...
hamburgers and hot dogs today...
Craig's plate...
he added baked beans to his...
and mine...
we had food left over...
and then after dark...
the cop shows up...
we are sitting in the side yard watching the neighbors' shoot off fireworks...
he had gotten a call...
someone complained and it wasn't us, so we sent him down the street...
picture me standing there in my nightgown with a flash light pointed in my face...
something right out of Tim Burton right there...
;)
this thing in the middle of the week has me all messed up...
all of us here today...
DH working tomorrow...
Craig working Saturday and Sunday...
throws a wrench in the calendar in my head...
which isn't all that accurate anyway...
sure felt like a Saturday to me...
I wonder what Saturday's going to feel like...
the oldest son and his girlfriend will be here on Saturday to eat...
not sure if its dinner or supper, so need to check on that...
so hope you had a good 4th...
ours was...
well, except for the cop and the flashlight...
but at least it didn't end up with me in handcuffs...
so its all good here...
;)
food looks great, looks like Craig was hungry...and lol on the cop with flashlight. And the kitty tracks on fresh washed truck is normal around here, too.
ReplyDeleteTete, I usually have a hot-dog for the fourth. That's a treat. Some people don't know when to stop doing fireworks...we call them the Addams ' family.LOL My g.daughter Emma is here and we will do some small things for her fireworks display...that stuff isn't cheap so she didn't get much for 15 dollars. She and I watched the city display last night from my bedroom window. Poor kid. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteYour day sounds very full and interesting - particularly the visit by the policeman! Aren't you glad you had on "high fashion" to greet him??:-)
ReplyDeleteWe had hot dogs over our campfire while the fireworks were lighting up the night sky. The neighbors from across the canal came over to join us.
ReplyDeleteGood thing the police man didn't have to take you away in your nightgown, Tete. I don't know about you...but I wouldn't do well in a jail cell...scary people are in there!
xo
thank you for your words of encouragement and prayers for my health,
ReplyDeleteKurt
Tete- Well, at least you were dressed when the cops showed up! That's a good thing!!! Love your day and your grill looks like it is brand new-either that or you clean yours a lot better than I clean my own.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was Saturday ALL DAY LONG, too. Weird- I hate these mid-week Holidays- xo Diana
