post number 3522...

I know, I know...
2 posts in one day...
but this is exciting...
for me anyway...
I got outside!

sure didn't stay too long...
still cold even with the sun...
and a bit breezy...

we scooped off what we could get off...
salted the rest...
everyone around here is out of ice melt...
they are using water softener salt now...

but today we are going through the side yard...
so many things to do when the weather breaks...
and I wanted to share some thoughts with you about that...
this so needs dumped and renewed...
thinking petunias and marigolds here...

and those fence sections are going up this year...
back where they should be...
which will make for a nice back drop...

the baby bassinet...
I am thinking deck...
with a pillow...
for fur babies to sleep in on hot summer afternoons...

there will be so much to trim back and rake out...

I am thinking this is the next bird seed keeper...
and put it out on the island...
next to the feeders...

and I am going to change this up a bit...
and stella's getting a new look...
got to find her something pretty and flowing...
bright and summery...

and this will be a great spot for a big pot of marigolds and maybe a dash of geraniums...
we do have a skeeter problem here...
and those marigolds might help that out a bit...

now, can you see the fence up, everything green...
maybe the window pane house in here or the pink bike...
and the bridge painted...
maybe even white and a pale sage green...

plenty of sticks came down this winter with the storms...
will make for good fire starters this year...

just waiting for spring to show up so we can start making these dreams come true...
have all the things we need already...
except for the plants and the paint...
begonias to line the path...
white ones...
doted with blue salvia...

a long winter sometimes produces the best plans and dreams...
and the most dedicated heart when the thaw finally happens...
to bring a tired world back to life again...
so I am dreaming of...
things like...
dew covered toes on my early morning walk abouts...
bees buzzing amid the blooms...
birds singing me awake in the mornings...
breezes blowing curtains...
dandy lions and violets...
the smell of fresh cut grass and the sound of mowers...
dirt sifting through my fingers...
as the clouds float lazily by...
suntans and evening walks...
its coming...
just hang on a little bit more...
its in the air...
and I know we are so ready for it this time...
;)
what are you plans?

  1. Tete, I do not want to look about too hard outside...I know there will be plenty of cleaning to do in all our flowerbeds. I love the little marigold very much. Not so pretty to smell, but to see, yes. I bet you are chomping at the bit girl. :):) Hey, my mom use to use softener salt ..LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

You have painted a beautiful Spring picture for me. I can see it all perfectly. I am so anxious for Spring and to have some wonderful plantings in the window boxes this year- xo Diana

  4. What a lovely yardscape you've shared here today. I think everyone is ready for spring. Since we are moving, I am not thinking about planting here or there. Since we will rent out this house, yard work will be kept at a minimum-probably just lots of clean up. Of course, I will plant some things at the new place but also wait to see what comes up. Thanks for sharing some inspiration.
