we woke to white on the ground...
hopefully for the last time...
it was a normal enough weekday morning...
and I got up and took my meds...
ate breakfast and then trouble began...
the new medicine knocked the bottom out of my glucose...
and it was dropping fast...
so I called the dr's office, they would get back to me...
so I called DH home...
dr's office called back and said if it gets below 80, to call them back...
I didn't let that happen...
normally, 100 or below is a good starting number before any meal...
two hours after your meal, you peak, and this could go as high as the 180s...
which is fine as long as before the next meal you are at 100 or below...
now you don't want to get down in the 60s or less...
waking reading was 143...
a little high, but not bad...
breakfast should have added 40...
so my two hour mark should have been in the 180s...
and then the meds should start helping and have it down before lunch...
but, when I checked it, it was 98...
I drank pop, which should have jumped it up quick...
its a fast burn...
103...
not high or fast enough...
so the eating began...
DH came home in case it fell lower...
it went on like this until mid afternoon...
finally, it leveled off and stayed up...
after supper, I checked again...
and the meds let it rise, like it should after a meal...
and then I have checked again this morning, and it is dropping back down...
like it should...
so...
no more of this new medicine he gave me...
it also had my heart racing...
do not like that at all...
calling him back today and telling them that I am not taking that one again...
unless my glucose levels are extremely high...
like in the 300s...
feeling so grateful for DH and for him always being there when I need him...
never starting a new med when I am home alone...
;)
today is going to be a better day...
blessings to you!
Hope today is a better day for you, and things stay as they are supposed to do.
ReplyDeletePretty Cardinals great pictures.
Tete, I sure hope you can get well. I know exactly what you are saying about new meds when no one is around...it's too dangerous. I will tell Ted what some of the sides effects are ...just in case. Thankfully the 3 meds I take are working and working together. Get well soon. xoxo,Susie

ReplyDeleteSo glad your husband gets home to you, when needed. And glad the meds are straightened out now. Whewwwwww.....
Don't go on a new med, alone. That's for sure. -sigh- I think my BP is up, just from reading this!!! Take care, Honey-Bun!!!!!!!
