another busy Saturday...

the lilies in the south yard are opening...
the ones behind the shed aren't, but these get more sun...

we got all the flowers we bought yesterday planted...
and trees trimmed...

trim mowing done and the mower guy came and did the yard...

weeded some beds and pulled some more maple trees...

dug some of the columbine out and a man wanted it so he will come tomorrow and pick it up...
I got two big plants for him and some small ones...

we worked outside until lunch...
came in and ate and went right back out to finish up...

DH and I took a nap when we were done...
and Craig's friend, Chris stopped by...

his grandma died and visitation is tomorrow night...
he has been taking care of her since she moved in with them in November...

the garden is doing really good this year...

no blooms just yet, but close...

these tomatoes do not have a lot of leaves on them, but they are huge for this time of the year...

DH cut the dead part of the bay berry out...
we lost almost all of the growth...

but the root ball is sending out new shoots, so we didn't lose it all...

then the last thing we did was dress the other scare crow...
Craig and I ran up to the Closet this morning...
and we found more clothes and a few other things...
chatted with some girlies I know and don't see often...

Craig held it up while I dressed it...
then he drove the stake into the ground...
we walked around and stuck her in several places...
I liked her here best...

love all the details...

and then I put string in the back of the hat to tie it on so the wind wouldn't send it into the next county...

and there she is in the front bed by the driveway...
along with some of the new flowers...

a black striped shirt like the other scare crow has...
what are the odds of finding another one?
then a purple blouse over that...
and I found this black shrug in a box...
I have been wanting to get these dressed for a long time...
and it never worked out, for one reason or another...
now I know that it was well worth the wait...
maybe I should make these and sell them locally...
;0)
I picked up some books and linens, too, this morning...
went to pay and the lady said everything is free...
;0)
I will be making donations there soon...
and going back more often...

it clouded up this afternoon and a storm moved in...
got a little rain, and its still cloudy so might get a bit more...
its been cool all day and a beautiful day to be out in it...
hope your day was pretty, too...
have a good night...
and don't forget to say your prayers!

  4. Darn, your scarecrows are better dressed than most people that I know. Love that one in the shrug.
I noticed one of my lilies was blooming, but it is near some poison oak, so I'm staying far away.

  9. Your garden is lush and green, and the new scarecrow lady is a cutie and will cause smiles around your neighborhood. I am home from church and will plant some flower seeds next.
