good afternoon!
its been a busy and productive weekend for us...
2 hard days in the yard for DH...
I kept up as well as I could...
corn field down on the corner...
got tassels and silks...
we had most everything done in the last 2 days but this...
DH planted his willow tree this morning...
and I dead headed and took photos...
because with all the doings going on yesterday...
I never got the camera out...
after an early morning walk with dad, Charlie went on clean up detail...
he couldn't even see where he was going...
hilarious...
but we had to get this back...
to file with the receipt in case the tree doesn't make it...
a tug of war happened...
and I was laughing too hard to take a photo...
Doug and Paula came yesterday and we went out to the fish fry...
so many were there!
we couldn't even find a seat, so we got it to go and came back here and ate.
then I got a message on fb for help...
took off to save a kitty...
but he is fine, weened and all...
but so tiny...
and the lady who found him is going to keep him...
he will be a little brother for Annie, the kitty we adopted out early this year...
Shannon, the mommie, went with us then to the fireworks at the golf course here in town...
and those crazy guys we call our volunteer firemen....
set them off for a good hour...
it was awesome...
its been 30 years since we have had fireworks here in town...
we didn't get home until 10:30 and it was midnight by the time I got everyone cleared out of here...
cleaning up in here after lunch...
I don't know when it happened, but a bomb went off in here, big time...
and the heat and humidity are coming back...
UGH!
but we did have 3 wonderfully cooler days with little humidity and it was wonderful...
and we did get so much done...
and there is so many leftovers, not sure when I will have to cook again...
;0)
hope your weekend was a fun one...
and a safe one!
I read in the Gramsley journal 125 yrs ago, that Charleston did not get the $$ for fireworks so people were going to Oakland. I really think it is wonderful they had them and the fish fry. What a great small community, got to love it!
ReplyDeleteTete, As usual your yard is so beautiful. I can see your hubby working on that tree. Glad you had some good days. Tomorrow is to turn rainy...hope it holds off till after my drs. appointment. LOL. xoxo,Susie
