these were taken the other day...

been a very busy day here...

my son has been saying all summer how he is going to switch bedrooms...
paint the front one...
and move into it...

well, guess what I woke to this morning?
towers of boxes and totes up to my chin...
in my living room...

I almost killed him...
seriously...

what began as a ME room, soon became the dump room...
all the decorations are in there...
props from when I did shows and booths...

junk, as far as the eye could see...
and beyond...

I purged so much today...
I only kept 2 totes worth...
and will be going through the decorations later this week...
and most of those will be going, too...

we are pretty much down to moving the big stuff...
shampooing the carpet...
he is painting the walls...

then...
he can start sorting and moving his junk...
and there is a ton of it...
so...
I am starting a flare...
and know this might not end well...
I am already trying to talk myself out of putting up the outside Halloween stuff...
just too much for me to handle...

but that's ok...
because so many times today...
I swore I would never shop again...
that half of all of this is going somewhere else...

donating what I packed up to the Kid's Shopping Night...
were kids can come and 'shop' for their families...
even if they can't afford it...
(things are marked a nickle or a dime)
they will walk out with something...
and we are doing that back to back with the toy drive this year...

and I solemnly promise to not do this ever again...
(until next time)
there has to be a 12 step program for this...

maybe I don't have too much crap...
maybe, just maybe...
my house is too small...
am I in denial?
;0)

  1. Dear Tete, I am cracking up here-you see after moving last spring, I decided I really didn't need to go to garage sales anymore. I haven't been; just can't justify bringing in more things, even if they are a good deal. I still have too much stuff and I'm sure I'll get rid of more as the year progresses. Hope you stay calm in all the totes and stacks.
    Hugs, Noreen

  2. Good luck!!!

Since I don't have this "Gathering" gene, I don't understand it. But even without it, we still have so &*((&^%% much "stuff" to get rid of.

    It's depressing.......

  3. Tete, Honestly I think some times...how did my few totes become so many with things in them that I have forgotten. It only take a little while for that to happen. That is why my spending is so limited any more. I like things I can use over and over. I like things I can put other things into..baskets boxes, trays. I have been sorting through lots of photos and giving to my daughters, sisters, and other family. Juts shredding some old photos that are blurry or "who is that?" .LOL Blessings, take time to rest and enjoy a tea. xoxo,Susie
