we finally got some rain Tuesday...

it came late afternoon, right before supper time...

and it dropped 20 degrees in less than half an hour...

its been the biggest rain we have had in a long time...

;0)
we almost got an inch out of it...

I know of one farmer just southeast of us who was picking corn...
and hauling it to the elevator...

we have our cooler days now...

no more 90s in sight...

and I am so good with that...

cooler nights with crickets chirping is wonderful...
as long as one of them doesn't get in the house...
then its creepy and you can never find it...
and you think you will go mad!

those calves were having so much fun in the downpour...
they were prancing and dancing and kicking up their heels...

we shot the photos of things in the rain, went back home to do supper...
then we headed for the normally Monday night JV game...
we lost, but it was nice to see the kids again...
I cannot believe its been so long since our boys played...
and we saw both of their numbers out there...
Doug was 61 one year and Craig was 25...
#11 there is our friends' son...
quarterback on the JV...
it was lightly drizzling so we watched from the van...
and very few were in the stands...
the ones that were there...
stood on the side lines with their umbrellas...
;0)
homecoming is next week...
;0)
are you ready for fall?

  1. We are due for rain today!!!! Finally. Things are withering and have to be watered. It's too early to lose the tomato plants, with their green tomatoes. lol

Ahhhh HS football! I love it!!!!!! One some was quarterback and the other was his center. Plus the center, played both ways. Tiny school. Not many players.. Oh but I love it!!!!!!

Am I ready for Fall??? Hehhhhhhh... Oh yeah!

And for finally losing the 90 degree weather!!!!!!

    Hugs my Friend!

  3. I read your blog each time you post just so I can see your beautiful photos, along the way you and your boys have become my neighbors. Your hometown is very similar to where I grew up. Unfortunately our school system was absorbed by a much bigger one and things were never the same. I see myself when you reminisce about high school football games with players who are second and third generation. Thank you Tete! This post was wonderful!

  4. Good to get rain when you need it. - Loved the rain shots. Especially the train tracks and the cows in the rain.
