just wanted to get a post done today with some photos to show what we have finished...
and why its taking so long on the kitchen make over...
besides having too much stuff...
our kitchen is not a tiny one...
this is the "home office" area...
it used to be my area, until I got my playroom...
now DH has taken it over...
it is where the desktop computer is and where all the mail ends up...
there is a small file cabinet right beside it...
its tucked in a corner that butts up against a built in cabinet...
the other side of the kitchen has the "food prep" area...
I can't believe that DH loves the kitchen like this...
been wanting this for years and he is so into "keeping the wood"...
and I don't know if I showed you this yet or not...
its one of my rummage sale finds this summer...
I took out all the wood dividers that you would use for mail and bills...
and we keep all those chips clips and another pair of scissors in the drawers...
our kitchen is 17' x 15'...
it serves multiple needs...
we have the cook area, home office, dining area, and our laundry alcove is there, too...
the entrance closet is also just inside that space...
so we are tackling it one wall at a time...
moving, cleaning and painting as we go...
there are 23 cabinet doors and 4 drawers in here to deal with...
it also opens up into the living room...
and that's 15' x 15'...
as soon as you come in the door, you have a sight line right into the kitchen...
21 years ago, open concept wasn't a big thing, but we needed it with a deaf child...
we are knocking things off of the to do list one at a time...
and the make over isn't a 'complete' make over...
there are still other projects that we need to do as we get the time and money...
but its started...
DH has had to scrap ice off the windshield the last couple of mornings...
hoping its cold enough to kill the bugs out there...
roses are still blooming, though...
;0)
have a good day and hope your week is going good so far...
Tete, Brr, scraping ice ... I love the kitchen desk area. Looks nice. I like you chicken collection too. :):) Hope all of you are starting to feel much better. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteIt is looking really GREAT so far, Tete...You got a lot done. It looks nice, clean and neat. That is a BIG kitchen and I bet you use every inch of it. I know I use every inch of this one. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteSteady, but slow. Best way to progress. don't know how people take everything out of a room, and do whole room. I'd have a conniption fit, doing that.
ReplyDeleteOne wall at a time. Perfect.
Looking great Tete! Keep warm!
ReplyDeleteLooking good and I love the Rooster decor.
