we made it through Easter...
it has been a long winter for us...
we took turns being sick through most of it...
trying to get back on my feet and I ended up over doing it...
had upper respiratory infections, bronchitis...
went back to my NP for one more round of antibiotics to kick it out for good...
got a shot of Recephia in the butt...
now I have had this shot many times before...
but...
this last time went bad...
we had just gotten home and I had a severe allergic reaction to it...
DH ran me back up to the Dr's office, I called before we left to make sure they were still there...
we were the last ones in there before lunch...
they were just about to head out of the door...
and my NP recognized my phone number and answered it...
she came running out with both hands full when we pulled into the parking lot...
a shot in the butt and an epi pen in the arm...
my throat closed 3 times while they were working on me...
but Jesus opened it up every time...
Casey, my NP, said I needed the ER and I nodded...
they called the ambulance and of course I knew these paramedics...
(toy drive)
and away we went...
I finally started breathing easier when we got to the hospital...
I had to stay and hour and a half to make sure it was over and nothing else was going to happen...
it didn't...
but now I can take nothing in the penicillin family at all...
:(
then Jody has been here and gone...
she stayed 3 weeks again...
yep, she was here when this happened...
spring is happening...
over did my exercises so I could play outside and ticked off my knees...
especially the left one...
NP gave me water pills and some kind of cream in a big tube...
and that stuff works...
only had to take the water pill one day so far...
been out working outside the last 2 days...
its a down day today...
its been a pretty boring winter...
missed you, too...
Tete, I am so glad to hear from you . If I had your phone number I would have called you, I was worried. Sounds like it has been a tough winter for you especially. Praying you get 100 % back to feeling good. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteHi Tete. It’s good to hear from you! Hope you are feeling better each day! Stay in touch! Dazee aka jackie
ReplyDeleteMissed you - I stop by periodically. Sorry for your allergic reaction - that is so dangerous. Recephia? Do you mean Rocephin? (I'm a nurse, never heard of Recephia, googled it and nothing came up). Rocephin is an injectable antibiotic of the cephalosporin family. The only reason I bring this up is you need to know with accuracy the drugs you are allergic to so you can tell others, and never be given them again. Rocephin is not a penicillin, though.
ReplyDeleteYou have some beautiful things growing in your yard. Take care of yourself, Tete, and hope you can successfully work on your health and get much better. Said a prayer for you today.
