taking a down day...

we have been working this a lot lately...

and its caught up with me...
lol

weeds in the field behind us...
its never been this trashy before...
(they tilled yesterday)

lily of the valley is blooming...
Bebe's resting place...
he's been gone 5 years Tuesday...
and we have had Charlie 5 years yesterday...
(makes him 6 1/2 years old now)

bloomers to come...

more to come...

needs a face lift, and will soon get one...
we have had this 9 years now...

knock out roses are doing great...

sand cherry bushes are doing great and growing fast...

Tuesday, we tried burning the leaves on the new garden area...
part of it was still wet...
Thursday, DH picked me off when he got off work and took me to a friend's house...
to dig flowers!
we got hostas and ground cover...
we spent 2 hours there...
Craig and I planted them yesterday...
and burnt a bit more off of the garden...
before the rain came last night...
and today, I am sore...
and I need a nap, so that's what's happening next...
I get 2 days to rest up before DH is here to work me out again...
we have much to do still...
and a garden to establish on top of all the spring stuff...
maple helicopters are falling all over the place, so will wait to clean out the beds until they are done...
its pointless to rush during pod season, but we have a deck to clean...
sticks to burn and a brush pile the size of a small elephant to burn...
so- enough about us...
enjoy your weekends and Happy Mother's Day to all of you...
God bless and prayers for a wonderful time with your families...
even the furry ones...

  2. Your gardens are so pretty! It has been super wet in Iowa, and the gardens are lush. However, it is hard to get out and work in them with the ground so wet and I'm concerned that my peonies will get fungal infection from all the wet weather. If they get that, the blooms won't open so praying that doesn't happen. Take care and happy gardening!
