more of our drive...
cows...
actually calves...
but they will be cows...
3 girls and 1 boy...
black angus...
beef cattle...
the boy...
Bebe went with us...
he loves cows...
he gets right up on my lap and hangs out the window...
the calves will come right up if you talk to them...
just say...
hello, babies!
fields are still waiting for planting...
it's too early...
another bunch of our crazy country signs...
I think a curve sign might have worked here just as well...
an old family cemetery...
this is the Gwinn Cemetery...
it is very old...
a lone tree left in a fence row...
it stands out on the horizon...
making muffins...
they are in the oven...
banana and honey bran...
everyone has been posting all these wonderful recipes for ooey gooey sweet stuff...
and DH has an amazing sweet tooth...
so we had to bake...
and it's just colder than it could be!
38!
I am protesting this cold front that went through...
we are hoping for a dryer warmer day tomorrow to work some more in the yard...
but it may not happen...
DH worked on his dresser today and it's all clean...
he even did the ceiling fan in our bedroom...
it is now sparkling and all the light bulbs work...
we can actually see now when you turn the light on!
without a flashlight!
imagine that!
we washed the bedding and got the bed made again...
love clean sheets...
and I vacuumed and swept...
tidied and cleaned...
did a few dishes...
cooked...
all while Craig did the Walmart run...
had McDonald's hamburgers for lunch...
and the guys had pizza...
even got a nap in...
and some laundry done...
but if we are stuck inside again tomorrow...
we can find more to clean for sure...
so have a great night and stay warm and dry...
Walnut Point State Park...
is located 3 miles north of our town...
DH and I took a drive through here after lunch...
things are blooming and leafing out...
the trees are still bare...
there are many places around the lake to have a picnic and fish...
it is windy out and you can see the wind moving the water...
another area for a picnic or group fun...
a camp site...
there are tent camping sites, too...
all along the road ways are fun surprises...
there are some ever greens...
and play grounds...
concession stand...
boat docks...
boat ramps...
rental boats...
not quite time to put them in the water...
but soon...
the under growth is very green...
the signs look like this...
this is how all the road ways look...
and purple is dotted here and there...
there are a lot of deer in here, but we didn't see one today...
it is raining a bit...
so they are laying low...
and this is coming out of the park...
we have spent so much time here in the past...
it's where we camped with the kids summer after summer...
we've fished the lake...
hiked the trails...
had picnics and cook outs...
birthday parties...
eat or just get ice cream...
the kids grew up here...
and we always drive through just to grab some inner peace...
it's so full of that...
and chipmunks...
so what did you do today?
