we got up Saturday morning to find this...
a larger dog had broken out the storm door window on the back door...
there were faint muddy paw marks on the screen and 2 piles of large dog poop in the south yard...
we called it in and Jack, our local police chief thought the same thing...
but it was such a beautiful day...
and we took many walks...
and just puttered around...
the leaves are already starting to fall...
and I predict an early fall for us...
my mums are starting to bloom...
these are walnut catapillars...
they can strip and kill an entire tree in no time...
found the branch they were on and had DH cut it off and I picked up every single one I could find and put them in a zip lock bag and smashed them...
then this morning, I got up, cut my hair and showered...
we headed out for a walk and ended up here...
oh, while we are here, why don't we?
and it began...
the forsythia took a hard hit from the drought last year...
so we pulled weeds and took out the dead...
wish I had gotten a before shot, but I didn't have the camera with me when we started...
but you can see by the circle, we took out quite a bit...
we have had 70's during the day and in the 50's at night...
then we moved onto DH's willow tree...
he has wanted to do this all year...
so, why not today?
took the top layer of grass off, laid down the black fabric weed barrier and mulched...
I trimmed it back again and there you go...
we took a break for lunch and then DH went out and picked up all the debris...
then he took me for a Sunday drive in the country...
the clouds were amazing...
and we saw cows...
and gates...
hay wagons and a creek...
nothing but fields and blue skies with big fluffy clouds...
coming back into town...
part of our construction work going on...
I wish they would take one of those big rollers and roll my yard...
a friend of mine's beagles...
there are 2 there- count the tails...
we even had time Saturday afternoon for ice cream a cake at the neighbor's for a 3 year old grandson...
and that's the way it was...
love country roads...
hope you had a fantastic weekend...
in an hour, it will be Monday...
can't believe our 3 day weekend is over...
;)
Oh how I love country roads. We haven't done a drive in quite awhile, but you've inspired me. And I love Beagles, how they fly their flags high, and always seem happy.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a wonderful weekend Tete! I love to ride country roads also. Once again you and your hubby amaze me how quickly and easily you can knock a project out. I know a certain someone's laundry room that needs a lot of help.....hmmm? Oh if only you were closer....:))))))
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to spend your weekend, Tete. I love those country road drives. We don't do them near often enough. Your trimming looks great and I bet you were glad to get so much done. xo Diana ps. Loved counting tails!
ReplyDeleteTete, I have been really enjoying the 70's and low humidity. Yum. Looks like you and your husband are working lots in the yard and it shows...everything is so pretty. I love the skies we have had lately too. xoxo,Susie
