city wide rummage sales were awesome this morning...

sale #1...
so much fun in one place!
and had a fun time chatting with Sharon, an old antique dealer...

vintage biscuit cutters in the tin!
check out the price!

USA coffee mugs, she had four, only took 2...
and a powder blue small pitcher...

a rose coffee cup...
I will use for hot chocolate...

and a cute little girl...

and this pewter colored behind the toilet shelf unit...

sale #2...
3 vintage pillow cases...
mom had a set of the yellow rose one when I was in jr high...

sale #3...

an angel for the gardens...

there was a box of candle sticks next to a box of votives...
and this is what I put together...

pretty pale pink...

and this huge (and heavy) candle...

I need to do some clean up, but wonderful color...
and not melted...

and we found Alice, just standing there waiting to go home with us...
just did 3 sales...
I took $20...
and spent every dime of it...
got all of this for that!

then out to the green house...
for tomato and pepper plants...

found these, too...

proven winners, wave petunias...
had to have them...

had to water them as soon as we got home...

but my favorite find of the day...
is her...
I made her...
I sold them for $15 at first and then $17...
she is one of the first ones...
I can tell by the hair I used...

someone took care of her...
I never kept one of them...
sold them all because "I could always make another one..."
I and so thrilled to have her back...

we came home and cooked bunches...
then had to do the nap thing...
DH is due home any minute...
just wait until he sees what I found!
;)
have a great weekend and if you are from around here...
hit town in the morning for some awesome sales!

  1. She is neat, glad you got her, and that price was good, too.
Love the candle thing you put together, colors are wonderful.
I used to build cabinets for over the toilet, and didn't end up with one of them, either. Wooden with hearts in the trim work and sides.
I need to get some petunias, that color is good.

  2. I love that you got one of your dolls back, Tete. I did the same thing- sold everything. I think I kept a couple of the slates I did and got 2 back when Gramnma died.

You found some wonderful things. My grandmother had a set of those dishes of USA ones with the flowers on them. That is one of the few things she brought with her when she moved in with my mother.

Love that color of petunia, too. xo Diana

  4. Tete, How touching that you found a dolly you made yourself. :) Please take picture of those petunias when they take hold. I love those wave ones and that's a new color to me. I spent the day with my daughter...she is getting better, slowly. She had to do a lot of on line checking with the hospitals. It's a night mare. xoxo,Susie

yes, thank you for the wish for no more surprises around my neck of the woods. -sigh-

husband's blood pressure spiked thursday afternoon, and i took him right up to urgent care. it was an anomaly but... they did all kinds of tests, were in phone consult with a cardiologist, it went down and they gave him a pill, and a Rx for 10 more, and said to see doc.

I made an appointment for him, with our doc, for monday afternoon. and bp keeps going down.

but! it was one-of-those-days!!! take the starch out of you. ,-)
