it is what it is...

our resident ducky...

still have the "lake"...

day 6 now of pumping...
this side yard is a total mess...
won't be doing anything over there soon...

concentrating on the other side now...
the beginnings of a new rose garden...

and enjoying the bloomers...

we have all been working together now...
got a great guy who is head of the water and street department...
and he is working with the farmer...
I had an idea of dropping a basin in this spot...
and he thinks it will work...
so stepping forward...
it would save the whole neighborhood from ever flooding again...
for around $2,000 or less...
that would be big savings for the city...

The farmer has been in contact with the company that tiled his field...
figuring out where its blocked and what to do about it...
I feel a little bad...
ducky just got a girlie friend...

I love my new spinner!

we are pretty sure this is all going to take some time...
and that things will be upheaved for the summer...
so...
we have adapted a new saying...
it is what it is...
no more, no less...
and you just have to roll with it...
:)
seems we will be spending our summer on the lake...
:)

Craig goes to the dentist this afternoon to get that tooth pulled...
I don't think enough infection is out of it yet to get it numbed up...
it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't have to do another round of antibiotics...
but he is feeling much better and there is no pain...
getting his energy back, too...
so have a great day and hope you have fun plans for the weekend...
we could be rainy here...
will give DH a chance to rest up some and for me to get caught up inside...
I am pretty sure we are all coming down with a head and chest cold...
need to have some home cooked meals and plenty of liquids...
and beat this thing off...
:)

  1. Tete, I just found a dr. to see today for a cold. I have not had a cold for a very long time. It am too old to try to blow it off since I am coughing now. Sweet girl...I see you are I the path of storms and more rain. I hope you do not flood again. I think the farmer should have been more on top of his field tiles....since that is where the water is standing and coming from. Tell Craig, to do more meds and not have that tooth pulled if there's still infection...that is dangerous. Blessings to you honey. xoxo, Susie

  2. I hope Craig was able to get his teeth fixed.
That is a really good idea about putting a drainage pond in....and then if they put a big pump in there that runs during the warm weather months it will act as a small waterspout and keep algae and crud from forming on the top of the 'pond'. They do that here, too.
