the big old elm tree went down...
and the other one was topped really bad...
these trees were 100 years old or better...
our old friend who owns them is 86 now, living is assisted living...
and his sister is in a nursing home...
and she is a very dear old friend of mine...
he visits her every other day...
her vision is very poor and she has dementia...
he has his hands full and was so distraught with the news of the property...
so I asked him if it would be ok if I took care of it for him and he said that is would be much appreciated, just send him the bill...
so when the tree guys come to take care of our yard...
I will have them take care of his, too...
down the street, our neighbor ended up with his neighbor behind him's carport and shed up against his garage...
but, it missed his machine shed and his house...
this storm was wide spread and over 200,000 lost power in our area on just one of the power carriers...
we have 3 power suppliers in our area...
we were without power for over 30 hours, the longest we have ever gone...
the storm was 175 miles long and over 40 miles wide...
our area had the highest winds...
we are ok, no one hurt or killed in it in our town...
our home and cars are fine...
we have one tree down and 3 were topped...
been on the phone with the insurance company, tree removal guy, friends and neighbors, checking to make sure everyone is ok and just cleaning debris from our yard...
insurance adjustor was here right before supper last night...
took a lot of pictures, noticed all the little things, and will be in touch with a settlement soon...
just waiting on the tree service to get to us and see what its going to take to get this done and how long it will take for them to get to us...
we have 4 limbs that need to come down that didn't fall, they are just hanging up there, one tree down and then haul it all off...
pretty sure its going to take a couple of days to get the lots across from us all cleared and stumps ground...
so, we are totally blessed to not have had more damage for us...
prayer works...
have a happy and safe 4th...
I will post photos of our yard in the next day or two...
