well, it was a long day...
6 hours to see the doctor and try to get the meds from the pharmacy...
found this mask...
Dollar General...
$1
and it dressed up the light on the kitchen table...
found this mercury pumpkin there, too...
$10
and it lights up...
and a pirate make over happened here this morning...
before...
(bald)
and after...
pirate wig...
(because we only need one bald guy around here)
$4
(they were $18 at Walmart)
shhhhh, you didn't hear that from me...
first, the doctor...
I am off of the Metformin officially now...
onto Geneva...
if I ever get it...
its on the third pharmacy now...
Walmart where Craig works...
he is bringing it home tonight...
he also put me on a very low dosage blood pressure pill to protect my kidneys...
did two vials of blood and had to pee in a cup...
(I had just peed!)
so, we walked around and walked around...
and finally...
I got that taken care of...
then off to DG so the pharmacy there would have enough time to fill my new script...
its around $116 for the Geneva...
sooooooo...
we get there and check on it...
45 minutes, they hadn't checked their voice mail...
soooooooo....
we walk around and walk around...
well, I sat while Craig pushed...
and we looked at stupid stuff when we ran out of good stuff to look at...
and so it went...
until...
time was up...
only to be told that they just got it and it would be another 20 minutes...
I said, "No, it won't"...
here's what you need to do...
"call it down to the other Walmart, son works there...
I am diabetic and I have to eat...
and cannot wait around all afternnoon for my meds"...
Craig is bringing it home tonight...
I really hate these new pharmacys....
not like the old time mom and pop ones that took care of you...
these people here move slower than the smell of snail...
it was 6:00 before we walked through the door and had planned on being home 3:30 or so...
it wasn't a bad day...
just not how it was planned...
a bunch of hurry up and wait everywhere we went...
I am not going to start the Geneva until Sunday morning...
Craig is off Sunday and Monday, so it I have a reaction to it or it knocks the bottom out of my blood sugar, I won't be here alone...
that gives me 2 days to figure it out...
and the blood pressure med...
2.5 mg is all and shouldn't do anything to that...
but it will protect my kidneys from damage...
and that is a good thing...
;0)
so, had a crazy, goofy day...
and Craig was funny...
and we found some cool stuff...
;0)
DH is working all weekend this time...
will get a day off later next week...
we are about half way through harvest...
we can do this...
;0)
Tete, I hate that you had to go thru so much...Praying for good results. I went for the flu shot today at our CVS...the kid that gave the shots..gave a man ahead of me one and turn to give me mine..I told him, just wait a minute and look at the two baskets you have the shots in. He had mixed the used needle in the basket with the good bandaid, swab and cotton ball. He says he would have seen it had been used...but how do I know that. I did not want a used needle to touch my skin....Who can we trust to care for us. Praying you get back to yourself soon. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend! I'm on bp meds too and trying to wean myself off of them-but keeping an eye on my bp. I hate having to see the dr. every three months-I'd be happy with a once a year visit. Hope your new drug works for you.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
Hoping you feel better soon, Tete, and that the new meds work! Love your pirate and also that pumpkin that lights up. That mask is GREAT!!!! Hope you have a good weekend and hubby doesn't have to work too hard. xo Diana
