it was a good day...

what's left of the flowers Craig got me for Mother's Day...

of course we worked in the yard this weekend...
trimming limbs and taking out a small walnut out of the shrubs...

things are still blooming...

DH and I worked on this Saturday morning first thing...
it was so full of tiny weeds and little maple trees...
we have more to do, but around the tomatoes is done...

Craig picked out petunias and begonias for me...
so I put some in here...

these petunias are Plush...
I love the deep color...

and here are the rest of them with one of the pansies in the middle of the pot...
we also painted and this is the new yellow color I got...

rose moss is growing well..

and there is one more color to go...
yellow...
its still a work in progress...
but here is what we have so far..

these take the longest to open!!!
still waiting...

this bloom opened up on the new climber...
the bud had damage to it from shipping, so I can't wait for it to bud and bloom some more...

it was a good weekend...
Doug didn't come up, but the rest of us had a good time...

my guys never buy me flowers unless it can be planted or potted...
which is what I really want anyway...

the deck construction should begin in a couple of weeks...
so kind of just waiting on that before we tackle anything else...
planning for what is going on there and then down around the front...

of course, I will probably have to rearrange many areas after that...
but we have all summer to play around out there...

Craig made spaghetti last night for supper...
and since I cannot do pasta anymore...
the carbs are just too high...
we used egg noodles and it was great...
I even had it for lunch today...
so between all of that and I had to place a walmart order...
that was my Mother's Day...
(had to buy new bras)
lost 6 inches around the middle and the old ones don't fit anymore...
so I told the guys that that was enough...

someone else I know got bras, too...
but I won't mention any names...
wink, wink...
I didn't model mine either...
LOL

you all have a great day...
got more inside stuff to get caught up on...
cause I kind of didn't do it over the weekend...
and sooner or later I will be around to peek at what you all have been up to...

saying goodbye...

Craig went to our high school's open house today...
it is scheduled for demolition...

spanish room...

hall way...

Craig's old locker...

in the basement...
we used to be the Oakland Oaks...
then we consolidated with another town and became the Tri County Titans...

stairway...

vintage skylight above the stairwell...

library...

english/ computer lab...

another set of skylights that have been covered for years...

details in the ceilings...

science lab...

home ec kitchens...

sewing area...

computer lab...

Craig's class of 2004...
29 students...

driver's ed...

driver's ed desks...
so you can learn how to buckle up...

hall way on the top floor...

narrow hall way...

details in the ceiling...

old alarm...

drinking fountain...

he peed in those...

boys' bathroom sinks...
yuck...
they never took the old on out...
he said the chemistry lab used the gray sink to wash out their stuff and the other one was for hands..

looking out the top floor toward the street out front...

the clock in the old gym...
which hasn't been used in years...

1921-2012...
they have built a new addition for the high school onto the grade school/ junior high...
they have started moving things already...
and they must be out by the end of the month...
this old building was costing the district $5000 a month in heating bills during the school year...
the ceilings were too high and the rooms too large..
lack of insulation and there were more problems than money to fix...
Craig did get to buy his football jersey he wore his senior year for $5...
he was excited about that...

I had a headache today so we decided not to go...
the building is not accessible for me...
I could have only gotten on the main floor anyway and Craig did so much better with his photos being free to roam around...

its bitter sweet...
saying goodbye to something that has been here as long as anyone in town can remember...
not being there anymore...
but the comfort and affordability for the district, staff and students gives us a great sense of excitement...
something new...
something not falling apart...
up to date for the computers and smart boards...
this building has served this town well...
but she is tired...
and worn...
and its time...
to move forward...
we will get photos when they have the open house for the new addition...
I can't wait to see what they have done!

ever feel like you are in limbo?
just waiting on the next phase of your life?
like you are wasting time?
you're not...
not if you believe and have faith that God is working it...
and you know He's working it..
it doesn't matter how fast you zoom through this life...
you will cross the finish line when its time...
no sooner...
no later...
take this time to reflect...
bask in His light...
and just breathe...
the wait will be worth it...
He promised...
