no guilt at all...

had a rainy weekend...
so we took a couple of drives besides doing the 4th stuff...

without any guilt whatsoever...

not an ounce of guilt about working in the yard...

yeah, we have gotten so much done in the last few weeks...

but there is always something else that needs work on...

but not this weekend...

I have so missed the drives...

not so much planned for this week...

doctor's appointment tomorrow...
need to call about getting my hair cut...
humidity is supposed to be way up there...
so might not be outside much, either...
just gonna wing it...

have a great week!

our 4th parade...

to end the festivities uptown with the car show and vendors there...
the parade began after lunch around 1:30...

it began at the school...

and the parade went down Logan to Main and then to the square...

so we parked on one of the side streets by the school...
our Masons...

a dear, old vet and past Commander of the VFW...

and they all throw candy at the kids and crazy ladies with cameras...

after the parade...
and wearing his parades beads with pride...
;o)
DH and I shared an ice cream cone at the pool before coming home...
that's when the nap happened...
supper at the VFW...
to the park for live music...
home to rest again...
and back at it for the fireworks...
Saturday was a good day...
I got to be apart of so much of it...
;o)
have a wonderful 4th...

the car show...

nothing like a cool, cloudy day for a small town car show...

the high was in the 60s yesterday...

and I was able to be out the whole day without worrying about the sunscreen or frying in the heat...

we had a very good time...

the car show was the first thing on the list...

love this one and have no idea what color it is...

classics from years gone by...

we had a navy blue one when I was little...

this is a 2008 vette...

loved this one...
it had a rumble seat in it!

duals carbs in an old Plymouth...

it was fun to see "new" cars in the show...

and we ran into so many people...

I love the chrome...

there's that vintage Plymouth with the dual carbs...

and more chrome...

the cars are in different stages of repair...
some are finished and some and mid way...

chrome and grill work are a thing of the past...

I had an ok day...
not perfect...
had to leave the park when the band started playing...
weirdest thing...
the vibration from the amps started a big flare...
but we got home...
got it settled down and then parked on the edge of town and watch the fireworks...
big, long day...
took me forever to get going...
but we did it...
we even ate supper out...
;o)

Happy 4th Weekend!

our town's 4th party is today...

have fun, be safe...

and be thankful for all that we have...
;o)

I will be posting photos of today throughout the week...
I have 3 sets of batteries going with me...

prayers for the family...

Mary passed away last evening around supper time...
from cancer...

she was so amazing...
a grade school teacher here...
friend to all...
cheery...
upbeat...
helpful to anyone who needed it...
an inspiration of what we all should be...

her pain is gone...
taken away...
but her family's just started...
and her friends...
her past students...

their battle cry was MARY STRONG...
so, if you could take a moment and whisper that phrase...
God will know who you are talking about and will take care of the rest...

she was diagnosed about 18 months ago...
I think...
she was here, with her husband, Bob...
picking persimmons...
I gave them all we had...
she was having trouble with her knee...
known of us even thought of cancer...
she was a runner...
we thought injury...

the last time I saw her...
she was bringing some things in for the toy drive at the fire station...
and she hugged me with all that was in her...
and SHE blessed me...
and told me for my loving and giving heart...

she touched everyone...
she touched us all...
she will be missed...
and remembered...
