Our exciting and boring afternoon...can you say withdrawal???

the big, bad meanie truck that took out the telephone line and poles...
a snapped off pole...
that's our telephone line dangling above the middle of the road...
the super duper telephone repairmen...
a brand new pole...
they had just got the new poles planted when suddenly, out of the east...
the downpour came and we ran for the house...
with the biggest drops ever- and Steve ran into farmer Bob who lives within 3 miles of us east, as the crow flies, and they got nailed out there with 9/10 of rain, wind, trees down everywhere- and we only got 1/10 here and some wind but nothing like what they got...
the big, bad meanie truck was removing the neighbor's tree when this all happened right after lunch...which wouldn't normally be too bad...but- we have our phone, cable and internet with them...we were the last to get ours back on- at 8:30pm- it was so pathetic...we were are experiencing symptoms of withdrawal from the internet...and the phone...and the tv...Steve got the pc first...I had the phone...Craig was getting baseball scores off of the tv...
I think it's safe to say we are addicted to electronics...it's so sad...

H...O...T...

I had the idea last night to fill the vase of the totem with fresh cut flowers and ferns...
more white clouds...should be past the rain part now for several days...
a nice place to sit at midnight...
my friend, Terri, made this for me, I think for my birthday last year...
all the curtains pulled and lights out make it dark inside and a little cooler...
Steve, just called and my work over tonight and the tree remover guy is at the neighbor's taking out her fallen tree...Craig thinks he has found just the right laptop to get him the rest of the way through college...so him and his dad are going to get it ordered tonight...the babies are napping in their kennel and the rest are flopped all over...they were so wild this morning...

Just 2 more days...

Steve, aka- Dennis the Menace, and his brother, Raymond, on Halloween many years ago
we're down to 2 days and counting...more to come...

You have become a mature person when keeping a secret gives you more satisfaction than passing it along.
