sitting on the porch in the dark...with a camera...

I love my new star lights...stars are one of my favorite shapes...
viewing the our security light through the birdcage...the city would not put a street light in here at the end of the street and it used to be so dark down here...well 16 years ago we had CIPS put up a security light and we could either put it on our pole or theirs...so we put it on their pole and had him turn it half around so it shines on us and the street...
another star light...I also love rusty metal...with holes...and diffused light...
and then I turned the flash back on and got these...

they look so nice on the porch...I am going to miss them when we plant them in the yard...
but then we will all enjoy them for years to come...
the new dwarf lilac...
have a good night...
we have a tornado watch until 3am...
hopefully...I will sleep through the nasty...

our new additions...

in between the rains...these may get planted this weekend...or next...
Craig picked these up at County Market on his way home today...
I think he did good...he called my from there and we plotted and schemed over the phone...
it worked...

today's playtime...

not a lot going on...
I have talked to Rebecca and Terri...
more talk about this weekend...
mainly about the rain and when its coming...
we still have wind today...
not a good thing to put things out in the yard in to get ready for the city wide...
looked a piece of pottery up for Terri and emailed her the results...
just waiting for the guys to start coming in...
in the meantime...
I may be able to get a nap in...
finally...
if the phone doesn't ring...

check this out...

I was just surfin' ebay...
always checking for Oakland items...
and there is this postcard on there with this image...
this image is mine...its of East Main street when they were laying the sewer...
and this postcard on ebay is listed for $99!..
they are offering free shipping...
but, hey...its way over priced...
tops this card would fetch $15...
and that would be on a very good day...
so much for bargain hunting today...

late last night...

the lights were still on in the living room...
a paper had to be finished...
the rest of the house was dark and quiet...
except for Craig typing away on his laptop...
I had an email this morning...
MOM, print this!...
it was only a 4 pager...
no problem...
this is the last day of regular classes for this semester...
after next weeks finals...we get serious on the weed problem around here...
and its as bad as it gets...
there's painting to do...
closets to clean...
walls and curtains to wash...
its going to be fun...
there's also all those seed pods that need scooped up...
its cloudy this morning...
long term has been calling for 2-3 inches for this weekend...
it just might be a movie watching, book reading, chili eating kind of weekend...
I have 3 movies that Rebecca loaned me...
been saving them for hard times...
this weekend could be it...
a girl can only take so much sports on tv...
you all have a good day...even if you are at work...
and if you are local...
don't forget to check out Triple H and the plants they have in...
Lorrie isn't ordering very many...and they are only $1.50 a pack...
you can also check out Beck's...theirs are $4.50 a pack...
but they do have things no one else has...

on my way to bed...

but I had to do another collage...found more clip art...
the wind finally died down some...
there is a major mess to clean up this weekend...
and there will be trees coming up everywhere...
if you need any...just let me know...

WIND * WIND * WIND

that pretty much sums up today...we are buried in seed pods...
and leaves...
I didn't stay out long at all...there must be a lot of pollen out there blowing around...
I just hope it all went somewhere else...

and when Terri paid me a visit the other day...she came to show me some of the things she has been working on...I bought it on the spot...
something pretty to hang in the garden...to keep the birds from eating your seeds...
she will be selling these along with her garden totems at Rebecca's sale this weekend...
you really need to go...
really...
helicopters...
maple seed pods...
floating everywhere...

it really is a nice day out...
these are new...just dropped some seed pods here last fall...
and the velvet of deep purple petunias...

Rebecca will be open on Sunday afternoon...
there will be plants!
if you haven't been here yet...
you need to check it out...
this is the first time she is hosting other vendors...
everyone needs a little glitz in their gardens...
everything is growing well...I love the time when the ferns uncurl...
and the leaves are getting thicker...
and the iris are about to open...
a sneak peek inside the cold frames...the peppers are getting big...
this fern is in the sunny part of the garden and is bigger than the others...l
lilies are coming up...
iris buds...
the columbine are blooming now...
the peonies and iris will soon follow...
this old fashioned columbine is not a popular color with a lot of gardeners...
but I like it because it draws in the humming birds...
and the butterflies...
which are an asset to any yard...
not to mention the bees...
and we all need bees for the blooms to keep coming...
hope you are having a sunny day...
and yes...
the fridge is clean...

good morning...
the sun is peeking through...
and the fridge needs cleaned out this morning...
several things on my to do list today...
non of it very glamorous, I'm afraid...
hope you're having fun with your chores, too...

I love blue birds...
and fairies are fun...
Rebecca will love this one...
she does a fairy garden...
I think they are fun...
I have never done one before...
maybe next year...
got up way too early...
but I found some great clip art...

the baby of the family turns one today...

Its been gloomy for days now...

but we needed the rain so much...
so everything can turn greener and grow...
one of my next projects...
and the cold frames...to keep the plants in on cooler nights...
and they will grow big in here until its time to plant...
this is Craig's last week of classes...
time has flown this last semester...
