Winter RAINBOW...GOD'S Promise of better things to come...

Craig went out with the dogs this afternoon and came back in so excited...
he said there's a rainbow...
and that it was right over top of us...
which has never happend before...
they are always to the east over the fields...
so I thought he had been hit in the head by a chunk of ice...
until I downloaded these photos...
please enlarge them...
they are awesome...
Bebe...

Bebe and Robbie playing in the snow...
and ice...
and the rest are just more ice photos of this afternoon...
now here's the real thing...
just wonderful...
almost like one of those old time Christmas cards...
this will be a year to remember...
and I was so encouraged by the rainbow...
an ever reminder that God keeps his promises...
and he has promised us so much...
springtime is just one of those...
Hope you all get shoveled out that got dumped on...
hope you all are warm and full...
and I hope you all know that you are loved...
Have a fantastic weekend and enjoy the beauty...

Pink Saturday...

last month, Lori Lynn had a giveaway on her blog celebrating her 400th post...
and I WON!
but it was a surprise giveaway, so I had no idea what was coming in the mail...
but I knew it was going to be good, cuz she has good tastes...
this was on the box all around the shipping label and she even had PINK hearts all over the box, which was destroyed in the opening of it cuz I was so excited...
there were so many things inside...
like this adorable PINK and white tea cup...
each item was wrapped in tissue paper...
so there were many surprises to open...
and the tea cup had pretty PINK roses inside!...
and kisses where  throughout the whole box, so I just started piling them in the teacup...
see how pretty?
the lip of gold and it's embossed just below it...
then a ribbon of PINK and gold decoration below...
WOW!
then a little green tinted bottle that will look so cute in my bathroom...
and this is where I thought the smell was coming from...
oh, I haven't told you about the smell as soon as the box opened...
the sweetest smell EVER!
but it wasn't coming from here...
more digging...
was it this? ...
sniff, sniff...
no, it's sealed...
but one of my very favorite things!...
yankee candles ROCK!
and then I found this cuter than cute handkerchief...
and you won't believe it...
but I really think I have one like this...
wouldn't it be cool if I do?...
I could use them for fancy napkins at a tea for two...
and then I found these absolutely amazing pillow cases...
there's a pair of them with a wide PINK band and PINK roses all over them...
and then I got to this!...
this was the smell!...
she was so clever to do that...
I am for sure going to remember this the next time I send a box...
it was so sweet smelling and then everything smelled so nice!...
more digging produced these sweet little dangly earrings...
and of course every wise woman puts chocolate in a box along with heart peeps...
what's not to love here?...
how did she know I was a HERSHEY girl?...
ESP!
boy, did I win the right giveaway or what?...
this is everything I would hand pick for myself if I were out shopping...
it is all totally me...
thank you, Lori Lynn for sending the best stuff!...
I'm going to eat all the candy...
I'm going to use the soap and tart until they are gone...
I'm going to use the pillow cases and handkerchief until they are thread bare and can't be washed anymore...
I will wear the earrings until they don't dangle anymore..
and the little jar and tea cup will be shelf sitters forever...
and I will smile and remember the time that I won and my dear blogging friend every time I look at them...
thanks, Beverly for hosting such a fun blog party!

Postcard Friendship Friday...

this week I am sharing vintage valentine images...
it's all about the heart this week...
and sweet, darling cupids...
I did some early hopping around last week and then got sidetracked with the big nasty winter storm and missed the rest of you...
hopefully things will be back to normal this weekend and I will have more time on the computer...
one of the worst things of a winter storm is being snowed in with others who you have to share the computer with...
I know my DH will be getting his own laptop in the near future...
make sure to put that on your survival list for all future winter storms...
right up there with bread, milk and toilet paper...
Dh thinks his baseball fantasy league is more important than my blogging...
I don't think so...
Geez Louise, they haven't even started yet...

there are more postcards in this party...
just click on the link and have fun!

More icy photos...

Craig went out again today...
the sun shining on things is beginning to melt the ice...
but it's leaving icicles on everything...
this could be dangerous...
so no walking under trees at all...
things are still coated pretty good...
I do think the ice is less on the lines...
and that's it for this morning...
in one month, we will have crocus coming up and blooming...
4 weeks and the whole world will change...
and this season will all be behind us...
and that will be a good thing...
but until then, enjoy the beauty of chaos...

Good morning, ladies...

just a few more of Craig's photos from Wednesday...
and an image for you...

don't have any major plans for the day...
I am just glad this week is about over...
and I hope we don't have another one like it...
there are so many limbs that didn't fall from the trees yet...
they are just hanging...
the last really bad ice storm that we had here was in the early part of 1986...
Craig was a baby and we packed and went to town...
my grandparents had a gravity furnace, no blower...
and if the electric was off it still worked...
it was the first and only one I had ever seen like that...
it was old...
and you know they had almost zero dust in the house in the winter...
they did lose power, but not for very long...
and we were stuck there for several days...
it was my 2nd ice storm ever and the only really big one...
I don't ever remember having an ice storm in Ohio...
I remember snow, lots of snow...
and blizzards...
I did find out last night that my son's apartment building has a generator...
so if he loses power, they kick right on, so he won't ever have to worry about heat...
well, I'm off to play bingo...
online...
until you all start waking up...
