Looking back,may I be filled with gratitude;
Looking forward,may I be filled with hope;
Looking upward,may I find strength;
Looking inward,may I find peace.

unknown, by me, anyway...

More images...

more valentine images...
I think these were done by the same lady who did the Campbell soup kids...
aren't they cute?...
take what you want...

it's supposed to get below 0 tonight and then start warming up through Sunday...
there's more snow coming Sunday and Monday...

my son, Doug, and his friends, Keith and Dustin, were here after 4 and stayed a little bit...
hadn't seen Dustin in awhile, they all are the same age and went to school together...
we had to catch up, so the hands were flying...
it's hard to keep up with 3 deaf kids, each one sitting in different areas of the living room...
well, they are kids to me...
Dustin will be 31, Doug and Keith will be 30 this year...
I can't believe it!...
they were all going to Dustin's, ordering pizza and doing a movie night...
Ki was home sick with a cold, so he isn't having much fun on his snow days...
and he didn't get to come see me...
I miss him so much...
I will be glad when this weather breaks and even happier when school is out so he can come spend the day with me...
Rebecca called and she is staying at her parents' house...
her hubby said the electric company that they have said it could be Monday before they get power back on...
she has pics on her camera but doesn't know how to download them on her mom's pc...
so she can't blog until after her mom gets home tomorrow...
but she is ok!
have a safe and warm night...

There are a few changes around here...

the obvious change is the background and header...
but I do that a lot anyway...
so here is one of the probably many valentine backgrounds you will see this month..

I have been getting quite a bit of spam comments lately...
so I changed it so that you must have a google account to leave a comment...
this will knock out the spam...
and I am sorry if some you will not be able to comment now...
but I don't want that nasty stuff on my blog...
and blogger can actually shut your blog down for someone else's comment!
it's just not fair, I know...
so this is the only way I know to stop it from happening...

also, in the last week...
I have changed my comments from being at the bottom of the post to the pop up window...
which, I know for me when I am leaving comments on your posts...
it is the easiest and fastest way to do it...
duh...
I know, sometimes it takes me awhile to catch onto things...
it is also the best way to respond to comments left to you...
just click on the person and it pops open another window to take you their blog...
and when you are done, it changes to just the name of the blog and you can go down through the list so fast!

now, back to your regularly scheduled blogging...
stay safe, warm and cozy...
and remember the ones without heat and shelter today...
it is so cold out...
God help the homeless...
and the ones who lost electric...
and the ones stuck out on the roads...
and keep all our emergency personel safe...
Rebecca is still without power at her home and most of Charleston is out today until 7PM
Rebecca made it to Mattoon where she works and her parents live, so she is staying there until the power comes back on...
her husband is home with house, wood stove and animals...
the sun is shining today again, but it's too cold for anyone to be out...
we will have above freezing temps for the weekend!

1.  My favorite time to take a walk is in the rain, and since I cannot walk too far anymore, I will grab my umbrella and a handful of paper towels, and go out and sit in the garden.  The towels are to dry off the seat.  When I was younger, I would walk until I was soaking wet.
2.  I have naturally wavy hair.  Most people think I spend hours curling my hair.  Nope.
I blow dry and go, mostly to straighten it out.  When I was in high school, I used to iron my hair on the ironing board in the kitchen.
3.  I was saved when I was 12 years old and baptized in a river.  Really.
4.  We used to have a snow mobile when we lived in Ohio, and I was grounded more than I got to ride, it seemed.  I went too fast, jumped the road, etc...but I never got in trouble for doing the shoot behind the barn.  And I never rolled it like my dad and brother did!
5.  I used to be very, very shy...to where it scared me to death, until 4th grade.  I came out of my shell and it's been snowballin' ever since.  My DH used to hate going anywhere with me.  As far as he knows, I have never met a stranger.  I talk to everyone, and even when I don't, they find me.
6.  I love chocolate!  But I don't like chocolate cake, chocolate milk or dark chocolate.  I'm a HERSHEY girl all the way, and Reese's Peanut Butter cups and Cadbury Eggs- but that's it!
7.  I don't do coffee.  Never have, never will.  Don't like it at all, and when I have tried it, I end up shaking so bad, it's not even funny.

Now for my list of 15 bloggers to pass this on to...
