peek a boo...

I see you...
the sun and I played this little game this afternoon...
and it tried so hard  to break through...
and it did while we were on our walk at the other end of the street...
but it didn't last very long...
just enough time for a few shots of the sedum...
the turning leaves...
the roses...
I love this little knock out rose...
begonias and snap dragons...
and some marigolds...
and this was the last shot...
and the sun hid again...

we have been so blessed with several days of a slow, drizzle kind of rain...
just in time to put some color in the fall leaves...
cooler days and breezes that leave tiny goosebumps...
DH even got off of work at 4 today...
we all had supper at the same time tonight...
it may not be a big deal with how our lives are today...
but we always try to have at least one meal together...
no tv or radio on...
our time to touch base...
be together...
family time...
just us time...
and we talk...
sometimes with our mouths full...
but it's allowed at our table...
we have even had food fights...
if you have never been hit between the eyes with a green bean...
well, you just haven't lived...
they don't happen often...
but sometimes...
we cook together...
eat together...
and clean up together...
even if we have to wash the walls...
and what happens at our table...
makes the days worthwhile...
have a great night...

we have been getting rain...

and what do you do when you are stuck inside...
fall house cleaning...
it's going slow...
so much junque to sort...
decisions to make...
keep?
sell?
toss?

it rained north Saturday morning...
so they shut down at 11 and DH was home before noon on Saturday...
he had all day off yesterday...
7-7 from here on out...
13 days in a row...
they get the 14th day off...
so that's every other Sunday...
it's going to be a long fall...
they have started picking beans...
and a little tiny bit of corn...
but the corn just isn't ready...

this time last year...
harvest was over...
we had such an early spring and early fall last year...
all the crops were in and most of the leaves were down...
so maybe this winter won't be like the last one...
and it will come slowly...
and it can leave early...

have a good night...

5 things that made me smile today...
1. NanaDiana's post today, another SweetCheeks video about who lives in her attic.
2. green, freshly mowed grass
3. a couple more bags going out the door that will no longer live here
4. elbow room
5. clean sheets
