the tree guy finally came today...

to clean up from the derecho that happened last summer...

we have been on a waiting list that long...

they are finally getting caught up...

then it was another day on the phone trying to get my rx insurance back...

DH had his post op appointment with the anesthesiologist this morning, too...

he should be all set now and ready to go...

I am tired, missed my nap...

and way too much excitement for an older woman...

LOL

the kids are spending a day out today...

we are having a wonderful time with Jody...

DH is scheduled for his shoulder surgery for April 2nd...

Jody flies home on the 3rd...

still no Rx insurance...

Monday, they said it would all be straightened out in 72 hours...

so we start calling again tomorrow...

things are going good here with the kids...

still working on the insurance...

weather is good...

going to drop for a couple of days and warm back up...

Jody made the flights from Canada to here just fine...

did better on my blood sugar last night...

changing the shot time to noon instead of doing it at breakfast...

should offset the major drops to when I am awake...

DH say the shoulder surgeon this mornning...

they will call with a surgery time tomorrow...

the xray showed it has gotten worse...

so y'all go off and have some fun days!!!

 adjusting to a new insulin...

I dropped 144 pts last night...

I had carbed up, so I stayed safe...

but this is scary...

adjusting dosage this week until I can get it right...

life isn't all about being what you want to be or being where you want to be in any stage in life...

desires and setting goals are not bad...

but most of life is the journey to get there...

thinking you will finally be happy when IT happens will cause you a lot of grief along the way...

learn to be happy no matter where you are...

that doesn't mean you are "settling for less"...

it means you trust God's plan...

I didn't plan on having to use a wheelchair...

but I am thrilled to have it...

it gets me from point A to point B...

and I can do this because I trust God...

I didn't plan on being in so much pain daily...

but it keeps me humble...

and close to God...

He didn't put me here to knock me down...

I am here because He lifted me UP...

so if you're somewhere you don't want to be...

look around and see what you need to learn...

what He wants you to do...

you are where you are for a reason...

and know that you are being blessed in this season...

look for the blessings...

they are many...

it's another day to do something fun...

find your fun thing today...

steaming some carrots, broccoli and mushrooms for lunch...

(and the next few days)

got one of Walmart's deli chickens to pull apart...

it's going to be good...

my primary care np found me a box of insulin pens...

a free sample...

saved us $500...

yep- keeping her...

it's different from what I use, but we will make it work...

I use an 18 hour insulin, so it doesn't work at night when I sleep...

this one is 24 hours...

I will cut back the dose and keep checking my bs levels...

and see how it goes...

there are 5 pens in the box...

so that's another 22 days worth...

yippee...

just a quick list of things to plant for the bees...

cuz we need the bees...

yesterday was a total down day...

the pain levels were high, so I took half of a muscle relaxer...

we changed pharmacies at the end of last year...

so, some of our meds are coming from other companies...

I could not believe the difference...

I think I will have to cut these in fourths...

half kept me in bed, napping, for most of the day...

I will never try a full dose...

LOL

unless I need to sleep for a week...

we had storms move through early Monday morning...

and thunder shook the house many times...

we got some good rain and at times a little hail...

but no big winds...

the lightening was intense at times...

and it made the grass greener, the buds on the trees bigger and washed the dust off of things...

so it's all good...

will start making my round of calls again later this morning...

but my dr had some things up her sleeve...

a program with the pharmaceutical companies through the hospital...

and there is a program if they can't help me through the hospital itself if they can't help...

Craig's girlfriend from Canada flies in next Tuesday for 3 weeks...

and DH sees the shoulder surgeon on Wednesday...

planning on spring cleaning starting Thursday this week...

and Doug is coming to help me, too...

we all need haircuts...

it's going to be chaos with a capital C...

LOL

got a dr's appointment late morning...

just doing it through the phone so I don't have to get out and about...

or find any fun germs in the dr's office...

just bringing her up to speed on the Rx problem and maybe plan ahead for either direction this takes...

got a cloudy day, rain moving in later...

need to bathe a dog sometime in between all that...

Blue Cross is calling me back today and we will see if things have happened yet with that...

making farmer's pie for the next 2 nights...

I saw snow this morning looking out the kitchen window...
