Our Sunday Drive...

stopped by Jane's and handed off her item...but forgot to take a picture of it first...the new home of Mr. Scarecrow...
then we went out of town and around a bend and found cows...
and all the colors of fall beginning...
a few of the bean fields look like this...but most are still small and very green...
the leaves are just beginning to hint at a little color...
and the fall flowers are in bloom...
a wonderful 1940s-50s style shed...the look like the old barracks the soldiers lived in...
the corn is starting to turn in a handful of fields but this one has a red tint to it...wonder if it could be popcorn???
the pond at the bottom of the hollow is scum covered and low...today is our first rain of the month...
just a simple country road...they used to be dirt...but that was some time ago...
more beans...
a cool fence row..
a scrub field that didn't get planted in time...
and another one...
coming back into town...the elevator in the background...
the backside of the elevator...ground pile areas in foreground...they are loading a train today...the overtime has already begun for these boys...
train cars waiting their turn to be loaded...they can load a car in 6 minutes...amazing...

It began raining on us coming home...we need the rain...a county west has flash flood warnings out...I don't think we have anything to worry about...it's just a drizzle now...
Have a good day!

Looks like rain today and most of the week...

the corn is finally starting to turn behind us...we may go for a drive later and I will show you some beans getting ready for the picker...
I know the rain is coming from the stiffness and pain last night and this morning...falling apart is so much fun some days...but while I was up last night...I made another sign...this one is for me...it is slightly warped...which matches my personality perfectly...

bad news for the show this weekend...sales were so bad...no one got rich...and its a lot of hard work to haul all this stuff and I wouldn't even want to guess the hours Rebecca and Nova put into it...but it sure didn't pay off for them at all...
I did have a woman call me from the gift shop...she wants me to do the signs in bulk for her and her daughter to sell at the really big shows around here...she needs to talk to her daughter about it...but she was real excited about them...
Rebecca has her barn open today for the last time of the season and then its back to work for her early in the morning...if you don't have anything to do today...run down and check on her...buy something...and make her day...she's earned one!

Terri and Andy will be back later today...she will find the scarecrow that didn't sell on the porch...the other one sold to Jane...she wouldn't tell me she wanted it...I would have given it to her...and she knew it...so she was there first thing Friday morning and nabbed it...so I have been working on a project for her today...she asked for it last week...stayed tuned to see the finished project...just waiting for it to dry...and then I can drill and wire it...

Meatloaf in the oven...leftovers for supper...if there is any...or we may have to scrambled for something later...the rest of the day is a putter day...but who knows what will happen...
