Happy Birthday, baby!

my little guy turns 30 today!
love you bunches, Doug!
I have no clue where all the time has gone...
and it's been wonderful having him in my life...
30 years we have been together...
I had no idea what I was getting into...
I just knew I wanted to be a mom...
it's the best thing I have ever done...
having my kids...
enjoy your day, Dougie Doodle...

and Happy Birthday to my grandpa, Buddy...
Doug was born on his birthday...
and no one believed us when we called to tell them I had had  him!
they all thought it was an April Fool's joke!

This is where Rebecca will be setting up this weekend...

she is going to be setting up in the morning...
it's a 2 day show...
and then on Sunday...
she and Craig are moving my stuff into my new booth at Copper Eagle in Charleston....
so much for a few days off work...
if you are local...
make sure to stop and see what she's got!

It hit 50...

we went for a walk...
not a long walk...
not too many birds today...
but the rain clouds are here...
things are coming along...
but we do need rain...
more columbine...
still more to clean up...
but a good day...
any day without snow is a good day!
Never look down on anybody, unless you're helping them up.

hoping we hit 50 today...

these could take awhile to open...
just a couple more warmer days...
and if you look closely...
this little bloom is "OCCUPIED"...
by the cutest little honey bees around...
it may be warm enough to wake a hive...
but it's still chilly to me...
44 right now...
but the sun is shining...
got rain coming in tonight and tomorrow...
but hopefully a great day for Saturday...
maybe there can be some yard work going on here...
the grass is starting to clump...
maybe mowing next week if the rains come and give it a boost...
can't wait to see dandelions...
and dog woods blooming...
cherry blossoms...
it's coming...
are you ready for it?
can you handle it?
mowing in snow flurries is just wrong!
but I have done it before...
hope it's not like that this year...
Laughter is higher than all pain.

I was just snap happy today...

it's still in the 40s...
but the sunshine was perfect...
just another 20 degrees...
or even 30...
sweater weather...
that would be so nice...
look!
buds...
the grass gets a little greener every day now...
this will fill in so much in the next month...
columbine...
Doofus is eating my daffodils...
no mail today...
patterns fascinate me...
the birds and back and pooping on everything...
my oops shot of the day...
see me?
tulips...
these are yellow with black centers...
I hope you had a sunny day...
we have rain coming in tomorrow night...
and then Friday was supposed to be clear and warm...
I guess warm will have to do...
we need the showers to get the flowers...

can you believe that this month is almost over?
amazing...
well, going to do some blog hopping and eat some ice cream...
just got back from a nightly walk and it's a little too chilly for that...
so...
ice cream will have to make me happy tonight...
hugs to you- Tete

photo shoot tips...

lighting is everything...
it's not so important as to how much...
it's the angle...
straight down flood light washes out color...
and angle gives shadows...
shadows = depth...
depth= great photos...
never take just one shot...
take as many as you like...
because every shot is different...
take them close up....
and then move back a little...
take them from below...
a different angle...
crop close ups...
take them from a above....
wait for the light...
and shear curtains diffuse light...
diffuse=a device that diffuses or spreads out or scatters light in some manner...
makes it softer...
like a candle soft...
so find something ordinary today...
and find your light...
whatever room it comes in at....
take at least 12 photos of the same thing from different angles...
these photos are all straight out of the camera...
some were cropped...
but none of the photos were retouched...
and it's just a cheap digital...
you do not need all the fancy cameras out there...
if it looks good to  your eye...
grab your camera...
if they don't come out...
just delete them and do it again...
be sure to dust first!
it will show up every time!
mornings and evenings are the best time for out door shots...
when the sun is coming up and going down...
it's the angle of the light...
the more you do..
the better you will get...
and the better you get...
the more you will enjoy it...
have fun and I will be checking in on you to see how you do...

Daffodils...

perky, yellow spring flowers...
it amazes me at how much detail God puts in even the littlest of things...
and at how much knowledge is in each bulb...
to produce this wonderful flower...
year after year...
they smell as wonderful as they look...
and I thought I would share what makes me grin today...
especially for those of you still covered in snow...
your world will awaken soon...
all of that snow is going to be a blessing to you when it does...
because snow puts nitrogen back into your gardens...
and you will be so pleased with your flowers this year...
just wait and see...
what's that old saying?
good things come to those who wait...
Have a blessed day and enjoy the spring...

Is it just me...?

or is it happening to everyone?
what am I talking about?
the lack of comments and people just popping in in general...
could it be that spring has sprung in other places and you all are outside?
or are you watching tv?
Tuesdays and Fridays are kinda slow around here...
just wondering what you are up to...
I have not been on as much myself...
allergies and watering eyes make it difficult to read for very long...
are you all suffering, too?
but I have been checking my blog list tonight and not many have posted...
I need to check the HGTV line up and see what's been on tonght...
maybe that's where you  went...
if there is something good on on Tuesday...
let me know...
the guys usually take over the TV when DH gets home...
but I can always record it to watch it later...

White Wednesday...

it's time for another White Wednesday...

and use them in your Easter projects...
have fun with them...
and enjoy the vintage artwork...
