what we did this morning...

got a text from Craig yesterday afternoon...

mom, I got 40 blocks...

???

all kinds of images were going through my head...

what kind of blocks?

concrete blocks?

how much is this costing me?

turned out that the blocks were these...

they will make a circle...

takes 8 to do that and its a really tight circle...

so, I lined them up and stacked them 2 high...

and the brick border we had before went on top to hide that they are triangular and not square...

love the contrast with the brick...

so they are holding back the front flower bed by the driveway...

love them...

cost: 25 cents each...

that's a whole whopping $10 there...

woo hoo on upping the curb appeal on $10!

when I win the lottery...

I'm buying a semi load of these...

and hiring a couple of hot younger dudes to lay them...

yep, that's what I am gonna do...

humidity is dropping...

and the temps are going down...

so now we will be able to spend some time outside...

its been awhile since we could do that comfortably...

looks like the better weather will be with us until the end of the month...

Meet Josie...

she's 8 weeks old...

and the newest member of our family...

she was dumped at a friend's house in the country...

she was loved there, but their dogs might have hurt her...

so an urgent plea came in...

and I said I would take her...

they were thrilled when I told them that we would keep her...

she is petite and so gentle...

and she fits in here...

checking in...

took some time to heal up here...

spent a lot of time in the bathroom...

either making a mess or cleaning it up...

the boil is almost gone now...

finally getting my energy back...

charging up for the weekend...

you know I can't let DH have all the fun by himself...

I like to get dirty, too...

nice weekend...

DH was off for 5 days!

we went for a drive while he had all this time home...

corn tasseled by the 4th of July here...

the old saying was, "Knee high by the 4th of July"

and you would have a good crop...

now, its always tasseled by the 4th...

but...

ears?...

seriously, we have ears by the 4th of July...

early harvest...

the beans are doing pretty good, too...

and the road sides are just blooming like crazy...

the weather was perfect for 3 days!

but that changed this morning...

90s and the dew point is back in the upper 70s...

yuck...

we are all caught up on the yard work...

but, we had to make an ER run yesterday...

another boil in a bad place...

and I couldn't see it and it got huge...

it busted yesterday morning, but I felt so sick with it...

I told DH we need to go...

got it lanced, a shot in the butt and 7 days of antibiotics...

so I should be good to go now...
