another dreary day here...

without much rain...

so posting the rest of the photos I took Monday...

we are not getting rain out of this system like we were supposed to...

a new rose of sharon...

deciding where its going to go...

our neighbor bought it and then decided he didn't want it...

so he gave it to us...

carrots...

and wild strawberries...

and some left over rose moss from last year...

in the wheel barrow under the willow...

I love this tree!

DH and I planted the iris at the base of the door last Sunday...

they were left overs from out front when we cleaned out the flower beds and dug the iris and day lilies to thin them out...

the autumn clematis to the left is blooming now...

this is the last day of summer vacation!

the kids start back tomorrow...

I think that went by really fast...

got leaves coming down...

walnuts litter the yard and flower beds...

ready or not...

here comes fall...

I, personally, love sweater weather...

sloppy flannel shirts and sweat shirts and long pants...

and a nice warm fire in the evenings...

and the colors in the fall...

all the leaves turning...

it should be a pretty fall here...

we have been wet most of the summer so the colors will be brilliant!

roses and coleus...

got a cloudy day here this morning and rain coming soon...

something has been after the roses all summer...

I think that's all DH gets done is dusting the roses...

but they are still pretty even with the dust...

took these photos Monday when we had full sunshine...

nothing like that today...

got a chance of rain now through Friday...

hoping we get enough that we don't have to water for awhile...

the willow is dropping leaves now, too, along with the walnuts...

not a lot yet, but more every day...

achy today...

because of the rain...

doing laundry and need to get a shower and get dressed soon...

found these fun metal flowers at the local Family Dollar store...

I got 3 for the newly transplanted hostas...

the other end of the island...

ferns are very small but still a really nice added texture to the beds...

naked ladies have arrived...

and...

the neighbor gave us all of his...

so we dug them and transplanted them here...

the new hydrangea we added last fall...

its grown some...

it is in the shaded area...

going to love having one on this side of the yard...

I am sore but moving...

getting better each day...

only to go out and do something else and then...

come in and heal up again...

its going to be early this year...

the "new" rose garden is taking shape...

we started this last year when the area on the other side of the house flooded...

we had to find some place fast to put the roses that were under water there...

been working on it here and there...

rain today and tomorrow...

we need it...
