did you miss me?

well, its been a long, long week...
but here is one of the projects we knocked out while DH has been on vacation...
the potting area...

after a very hot and muggy summer...
this was really neglected...
and it began falling apart...
the cats liked to sleep on it...
but started falling through...

but to clean that mess up, some things had to be sacrificed...
like the blooming morning glories...

and some things are gone now...

we got it all pulled out and cleaned out underneath...

thought I would lose the fence behind, too...
and part of it did fall off, but we were able to keep the most part...
for another year or two, anyway...
and in place of the old, the "new" went in...

and it looks really good...
this a Craig find...
a used tool box for a pick up bed...
and it works great...
it's water proof and holds a lot...
the extra pots are inside now...
and its been sitting behind the deck now for a couple of years...
and that cleaned that area up, too...

and here is a little something I picked up at Dollar Tree while we were in Paris on Tuesday...
a paper towel holder for $1...
and I got 3 of them...
for tape and string and such for the play room...
got another post on what I found there...
and then we have have 3 mega shopping days for the toy drive and did we find some great things at  75% off or more...
that will be another post...
;)

I also had another birthday and forgot it was my birthday...
telling ya, getting old here...

my aunt's birthday is today, the 18th...
and they have called hospice in today...
on oxygen and they cannot take her off at all now...
she doesn't want to eat and is fighting the mask...
so please pray for her and her kids and grand kids...

DH goes back to work tomorrow and Craig is home...
2 more loads of toys need to go to the storage room uptown...
had my blood work done this week, too...
that came back very good...
but putting me back on the vitamin D prescription strength...
lactose intolerant and it was slipping a bit low again...
I had a bout of IBS for about 3 days this week, too...
but that seems to be over now...
so...
I will be back in here soon and update you on the progress of the yard...
the fun things I found and all that...
missed you...
have a blessed week...

garden time...

went out first thing yesterday morning to pick green beans...

still waiting on the majority of the larger tomatoes to turn...

got a squash...

green tomatoes everywhere...

the cherry tomatoes are producing a few every day now...

my bag...

Craig's bag...

we came in and changed the menu for the rest of the week...
we had the large roaster full and gave some away, too...
we still have enough for another meal or two...

we missed the rain yesterday, so had to water last night after supper...
I have been doing a lot lately, so taking a putter day...
well,
a putter/ nap day...
so...
have good days out there!

such a great 3 day weekend for us...

morning glories are blooming every morning...

we worked in the south yard all weekend...
and it all looked like this or worse...

but we pulled weeds. trimmed things up and moved some stuff out...
and it felt good...

the surprise lilies are blooming here, too...

it was very comfortable outside...
yesterday was a bit warmer, but we only worked outside in the mornings until lunch time...

I still need to but back these day lilies...
my thoughts are to start working on the fall clean up...
we have leaves falling already and nuts coming down...
it will be an early fall...

 bought new lanterns, too...
half off now...

it was good to be in the dirt again...
I also got this side mowed and the neighbor's done...
he is working so hard on this place next door to us and coming across one obstacle after another...
but the guys came and got his new roof started...
and it looks good...

tragic news over the weekend with the shootings...
El Paso and Dayton...
praying for all of those people and their families...

I found this online and loved it...
its so true in my life...
our legs are way too short to keep up with Him...
and then there are those times when He just carries us...
grateful for His grace...

have blessed days...

new to the play room...

this divider went into a make up case that I am using for my cameras and such...
going to make it a fun organizing tray for my have tos...

and a couple of FD finds...
took off the raffia bow...
(that almost completely covered the word "Gather"...
going to put a black with white dot bow on it instead...

and a couple of flower stems...

alone or with mums, I think they will be quite cute...

yes, I bought "FALL" stuff...
its not too soon...
besides...
it was on my way to pick up the Tide and Downy...
so there...
it kind of just jumped out at me...

hhhmmmmffff...

DH didn't believe me, either...

I am purging a lot of my halloween decor this year...
anything that symbolizes evil is going...
just have a better understanding of what some of these things really mean...
and how we have grown to accept it in our society...
I always had the attitude that it's evil only if  you make it be...
but my heart has been changed this year...
symbols do have meaning whether we believe in them or know what they are...
and it can invite evil in...
so...
it's going...
I have already talked to the guys about it...
we will still do fall and harvest things...
but the skeletons, witches and all will be going...

I have been researching this subject since the first of the year and am being led in this direction...
one thought that helped me make up my mind was...
would I put this up in my front yard in Heaven?
no...
I wouldn't...
so there was my answer...

if you have any questions about it, leave a comment...
I will do another post about it...

have blessed days...

hello from the rain day...

we had rain and dark skies most of the day...

which means we don't have to water for a couple of days...

we are getting tomatoes now and waiting for the next batch of green beans...

so what do you do when it rains?

you play...
(after you get the house work done, of course...)

just some moving things around on the desk kind of a day...

where do you store your clips and clothes pins?
lamp shade?

an original swanky swig...
with black stars...
the only one I have kept that had a design on it...

don't I look like a pint sized gardener?
even back then...

does anyone else get these in the mail?
I have gotten them for a year and half to two years...

free...
I did not pay for them and no one else paid for them...
they send them free...
I used to get them...
got about 4 issues and called them up and told them to save their postage...
they weren't worth bringing home from the post office...
I told them to cancel my subscription...
truth:
they are 99% ads...
yep- under 10 pages of something actually not an ad...
there is nothing that's really my style at all...
mostly modern...
I don't do recipes...
(I make up my own stuff as I go)
so, took me a whole whopping 10 minutes the thumb through all of these...
my suggestion is to start in the back...
the covers are pretty but that's about all it has going for it...

well, there you have it...
my day in a nutshell...
:O)

tonight is pizza night...
Dominos...
haven't had them for a few months...
DH has been talking about getting them for a couple weeks now...
withdrawl?
surely not...
:O)
come back soon!
have good days...
