stopped by Jane's and handed off her item...but forgot to take a picture of it first...the new home of Mr. Scarecrow...

then we went out of town and around a bend and found cows...

and all the colors of fall beginning...

a few of the bean fields look like this...but most are still small and very green...

the leaves are just beginning to hint at a little color...

and the fall flowers are in bloom...

a wonderful 1940s-50s style shed...the look like the old
barracks the soldiers lived in...

the corn is starting to turn in a handful of fields but this one has a red tint to it...wonder if it could be popcorn???

the pond at the bottom of the hollow is scum covered and low...today is our first rain of the month...

just a simple country road...they used to be dirt...but that was some time ago...

more beans...

a cool fence row..

a scrub field that didn't get planted in time...

and another one...

coming back into town...the elevator in the background...

the backside of the elevator...ground pile areas in foreground...they are loading a train today...the overtime has already begun for these boys...

train cars waiting their turn to be loaded...they can load a car in 6 minutes...amazing...
It began raining on us coming home...we need the rain...a county west has flash flood warnings out...I don't think we have anything to worry about...it's just a drizzle now...
Have a good day!

Thanks for the driving tour. "smile" Don't you just love the colors of fall. We are surrounded by fields here and I love that rusty golden color that corn turns. I'm collecting shades of that color to make a fields and furrows quilt.
Mr Scarecrow sure has a wonderful new home. Imagine being guarded by lions! "giggle"
