cruisin' in style...

this was parked at the neighbor's yesterday while we were out mowing and doing yard work...

we had to get a closer look...
he had the seats redone...
the fabric is new but the vinyl is original...

turns out we know the owner...

so I asked if I could take some photos...

he opened the door and said sure...

this is a 1962 Rambler...

my grandpa had a Rambler station wagon...
we called the "doodle buggy"

got to love the curves...
and a winged back window...

he has worked very hard at restoring her...

right down the original ramble hub caps...
those made me smile...
shoot, the whole car had me grinning...
brought back some sweet memories of that old doodle buggy and riding to town...
in the back...
if you have never ridden in the back of a station wagon...
you missed one of the best parts of being a kid...
;0)

Tete, Made in America with real steel. Crank windows and a radio, a gear shift too. I love it. My daughter had a loner while she was getting her Jeep worked on and it did not have a gear shift...it had a big knob..are you kidding me???? I would chose an older car over newer one any day if I could. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

But tsk, tsk... Rust on the wheels. Get goin' fella! You have to remove that rust! -grinnnnn-

I can top you, on riding as a child. Ever ride in the rumble seat of a 1930 Model A?????? My mother had one!
