This is my friend's new patio they added last year and her new spring bulbs. They are gone for the weekend to see their kids and we are feeding their 3 cats. They have a small dog named Diva that is friends with BeBe and he was so excited that we were there. Then he was disappointed when he couldn't find Diva.

This was our little project last night- removed the concrete block pavers and Craig will use them to finish the rest of his circle bed. I told you I had plans for that pile of bricks. We are getting them from a friend who tearing down an old house and these used to be a chimney. The others we have gotten from different places. I like it that they have a history and are not being thrown in a landfill somewhere.
Aged bricks look better than new ones to me anyway.

They're back!
My stepmom- Paula and my dad

dad with a baby hummingbird

Their house in southern Illinois- where they feed thousands of hummingbirds every year and the same ones come back to see them each spring. Paula sent me an email last Sunday and said that the hummingbirds were starting to come in, a sure sign of spring.

Dad said once that they have hundreds of rose of sharon bushes that the birds love.

Who said good help is hard to find? Just trying to check my email and I was attacked. Its a dreary day- rained last night and the sun can't find its way out. A little bit chillier, too. Some bad person (Steve) said it might even snow again this weekend. I was going to plant onions.
Maybe not.
Friends are going to be out of town this weekend and we have double duty feeding chickens for one and cats for the other.
The chickens are growing and maybe we can get some more pics of them.
They are not quite ready for Sunday dinner- but it won't be long.
