the growth season...

we are all born with a seed planted deep in our soul...
the seed that needs a gardeners touch to grow...
and depending on where we are in our lives and how we are living...
depends on whether that seed grows in a stable, rich soil or in shifting sand...
where the roots can never get a firm grip to hold onto to...
we need watered and fed...
and those gardeners are sent into our lives...
to fulfill the orders of the master gardener...
and even though He does not stop the storms of life to come our way...
He does send in wind blocks until the storm passes...
He also sends the ones in to prune our vines...
to tell us the truth and get us back on track...
to stop us from growing too fast...
so that later our fruit will be fuller and ripe...
so that we are able to feed others...
to protect others in our shade...
and only the strongest have a vine that reaches under the wall...
beyond what is seen from this side...
so that when the end of the growth season comes...
it ever blooms on the other side...
because the roots took hold and held fast...

we are here to help each other grow...
when we think of others more than ourselves...
we grow stronger...
spreading love and words of encouragement are fertilizer...
and prayers are asking the Master Gardener for help and instructions...
when you have days that the Son is shining down...
turn your faces toward the warmth and store it up...
for cloudy days do come...
and it's after the storms pass that we grow the most...
that we bloom the best...
and it's then that the fruit is the sweetest...

soak up the rains from the storm you are in...
clear skies will come again...

thank you to all of you who tend my garden...
and help me grow...

a thought...

Some people confuse acceptance with apathy, but there's all the difference in the world. Apathy fails to distinguish between what can and what cannot be helped; acceptance makes that distinction. Apathy paralyzes the will-to-action; acceptance frees it by relieving it of impossible burdens. -Arthur Gordon

S*#@...

that dirty word is back...
and it's flying through the air...
and now it's starting to stick...
gonna have to dig out Bebe's sweater again...
get the mittens and hide the sunblock...
good thing we haven't put the S*#@ shovel up...

WARNING: the following photos contain S*#@...
taking donations for a one way ticket to the North Pole for Jack Frost...

you know...
mom had tulips bloom in June when her and dad were first married and had bought a new home...
she misread the directions...
she planted them 12 inches deep instead of 12 inches apart...
took them awhile to get their little heads to pop out of the dirt...
the neighbor ladies thought she was this gardening genius...
they all flocked to mom's yard...
only to realize the village idiot had moved into the neighborhood...
mom loved to tell that story...
her proof that miracles can happen to goofballs, too...

the S word is happening right now!

so Bebe spent the afternoon in doggie grooming time...
we buzzed him and then Craig bathed him...
then he rolled around awhile and I brushed him out...
the S word is not showing up in the photos...
but it's a pretty good flurry going on...
so some of the furry ones went out to play...
you can see the S word out in the fields...
and some water standing in the back yard...
but it is a little bit lighter outside...
you gotta love this weather...
I have sunblock and mittens sitting side by side by the door...

I am feeling so much better...
thank you for the prayers and well wishes...
I know they make all the difference in the world...
I got back to my weights in the floor last night and we are still doing the PT...
just at a slower pace...
doing my stretching and yoga moves...

if anyone's looking for a toy poodle...
we clipped enough hair off of Bebe to make another one...
just let me know...
early this morning...
rainy and dark...
and down to 37...
there was something in the forecast about snow showers...
but I plugged my ears and went na na na na na na...
so I didn't hear the s word...
just saw the snowflake...
so it won't happen here...
DH is shopping...
Craig and I have been sorting photos...
got a box from my step mom with clothes inside...
some of dad's that he can't wear anymore that the guys can...
DH is back already, so I need to help put stuff up!
Have a great weekend!
stay dry...
