just me and my guy...

there are so many things your learn from your parents...
and if parents are smart enough to listen to their kids....
there's a lot to learn from them, too...
cone flower...
and when you weed and plant together...
you get to know each other...
it's like that with God, too...
the more you talk to Him...
the better you get to know Him...
so today...
me and my guy weeded and moved the mail box...
isn't it cute here?
nothing was growing in here anyway and I don't have anything ready to go in here...
besides...
it looks cute there...
and this is where we planted the yellow glads...
12 of them...
it shouldn't take them too long to come up...
and I put Steve's little pansies out here for everyone to see when they go by...
which isn't many since we live at the end of a dead end street...
bwahahaha...
and after lunch, we washed windows...
my guy did most of the work...
and we washed cutains...
all put back...
then we did this...
he wasn't going to smile...
silly guy...
but I did what I always do to my kids to get them to smile and it works everytime...
I just say...
there's a rooster on your nose...

we pulled the pickets off of a section of fence and replace that old section with this...
any guesses where it goes?
I'll show you later...
cooking spaghetti tonight...
sauce is made and my guy just let me know the angel hair is done...
time to throw it all together and test it out...

have a good night...
lightening bug season, so wash out that mayonaise jar...

my morning walk about...

well, the sun is up and the skies are clear here on the prairie this morning...
and there is a heavy dew on everything...
got my toes a little wet out here...
but the dew means the cicadas are silent...
and it was so peaceful with just the birds singing away...
and the sun kissed many things here and there...
did you know that if you want a fuller, bushier plant...
that between the 5th and 7th year you have to cut it all the way back to like 6 inchs high...
yep...
I did that after the 5th year...
it took all that was in me to cut it back...
I hated to lose the growth...
but it was so worth it...
and I sat on the bench out here for a bit...
while Bebe did his business...
and Boofy and Mr Wiggles kept me company...
looks like a scarecrow xray...
I sat here and prayed for my dad this morning...
this is my favorite shot today...
the lilies are just wonderful this year...
I'm not sure what we are going to be doing today...
maybe washing the kitchen and bedroom windows...
there's always weeding...
bought these seeds Sunday are the grocery store for 59 cents a pack...
not sure if they will come up or not...
there's globes, poppies, larkspur and statice...
some of my favorites...
put them in peat pots so I can just plant the whole thing without disturbing the roots if they do come up...
I did pick up 6 more glads last weekend that need to go in the ground...
these are yellow...
the pink ones have come up already...
so I'm hoping they bloom this year...

gardening is like your spiritual life...
what you do today will not be reaped right away...
you plant for the future...
do not expect to see immediate results from your Godly work...
and it needs to be tended to daily...
so the weeds never get a good footing...
and there are always weeds to pull...
plants to prune...
blooms to enjoy...
but they are fleeting...
and only there a moment...
you have to keep working to keep blooming...
and pull the weeds in your life that keep you from doing so...
make sure your roots are planted deep...
so when the storms come...
you bend...

thank you for all the prayers for my dad...
and for me...
it's going to be a great day...
enjoy every minute...

need your prayers...again...

got up this morning to a thunderstorm...
we got 1/2 an inch this morning...
so I worked on sorting and pricing again...
thought I would have another peaceful day...
Craig started off for work and was back home before I knew it...
the lady who has been "not" training him met him this morning and started in on so many things...
personal things...
and suggested that he would be fired anyway...
so he just turned around and walked out...
she has answered any questions that he has had with a smart aleck question in return...
and he has been getting annoyed with not knowing how to do certain things...
because she wouldn't show him...
but this morning she made a comment on how her 55 year old attitude was better than his 25 year old one...
and that he had been handed everything in life...
she doesn't even know anything about his life...
he is a college graduate because he worked for it...
he earned it...
I am so glad he walked out on her...
no one has the right to call someone names, assume they have it so easy, and threaten them with their job when their training isn't finished...
especially for minimum wage...
he just stood there and took it and then asked her if they were going to fire him...
and she wouldn't say...
just that her and the boss were going to reevaluate him...
nothing he did was ever right for her...
or fast enough...
shoot, speed comes with doing something more than a couple times...
so he just walked out...

and we spent the day together...
working and laughing and playing computer games...
we got so much done in such a little time frame...
so we goofed off a little before we started supper...
and we kind of dodged some nasty little storms this afternoon...
and then after supper and my shower...
my step mom called...

now here is where I need your prayers...
my dad is in the hospital again...
diarrhea for 6 weeks...
and the CT showed a blockage...
the gastric doctor wants a couple more tests and then they will decide what to do...
he is not in pain and his red and white blood count are normal...
he didn't know why it happened or if there is anything else wrong...
so I will keep you posted as I hear from my step mom...
sugar levels have been staying below and right at 200 ...
which is very good...
just remember him in prayer and my step mom for staying by his side...

you all have a good night and have a great day tomorrow...

What bugs you?

well, here is what we have been blessed with lately...
cicadas..
and lots of them...
they have creepy little red eyes...
and they are everywhere and so noisy...
but I think they are finally winding down...
they say they hatch out every 13 years...
and this is the lucky year...
but I have never seen these before ever...
or this many...
we usually have a few locusts every year...
the big green ones...
that are kind of cute...
it's worse in other places around here...

these little buggers and the gnats have been bugging us this year...
what's been bugging you?

A White Wednesday farewell...

my best friend, Rebecca, from Ella Mae's Barn Gathering...
had to say so long to her Miss Kitty today...
she did a wonderful post about her here....
I was at Rebecca's a couple weeks ago and Miss Kitty, who was known for her attitude, let me pet her and didn't hiss at me once...
she always had before...
but today, she had to give her back...
but Miss Kitty is in good hands...
and now she will always be an angel kitty...
please, keep my friend in your prayers this week...
Miss Kitty was her first pet and she was 18 years old...
our babies become so much a part of our lives and when they pass from here...
there is such a void...
and a broken heart...
you are in my prayers, dear friend...
