started playing around today...

and with some extras that I have been holding onto for a long time...

we came up with this...

now all these pieces I have had for sale in my booths over the years...

they have been extra loved and have a few stains and tears...

but I guess no one saw the potential like I did...

their loss, my gain...

cause you getta keep what you don't sell..

right?

we have a really nice breeze today and its in the upper 70s low 80s...

looks like Daphne will be the first to try out the new sleepy arrangements...

Craig and I tried it out, but still not soft enough for me to sleep on...

I am thinking air mattress, or better yet, later on...

an old iron bed...

or 2 twins...

and positively more pillows...

have tons of vintage cases...

its great for sitting though and flipping through magazines...

sipping Crystal Lite...

strawberry kiwi today...

y'all stop by when you get time...

long day...

got mums blooming full force now...

the back of the deck...

and yes, I spent the majority of the day out here...

DH started in early burning the pile down...

and this is the last of the old deck...

got limbs to trim today to start a new burn pile...

and Bleubelle is growing...

bit the nipple off of the bottle this evening, so started her on baby food...

gets a potty box today, too...

DH did some shopping this afternoon and brought home Burger King for supper...

also nabbed some more pavers...

that's another job to do on the list...

got a shower and went to bed early, so I'm up now...

may head outside for a bit...

piddle fartin'...tete style...

I have only just begun...

but the white shelf is out there now...

and hydrangea fill the pots I used in the antique mall for my post cards and tags...

figured out a way to hang my flag...

clothes pins...

been saving this for the right time...

and its now...

a bowl of fresh cut flowers from our beds and pots...

had to move the lantern here...

when the flag blew it caught on it and that's a big no no...

so the yellow pot is back here...

I love floating little flowers...

ok- down here will be paved, too...

this is DH's designated grilling area...

he claimed it...

and the yard is already starting to turn brown again, but it was green most of the week...

next chance of rain in Monday with cooler days again...

going slow today and taking my time...

can't seem to get my energy back up there...

could take a few days...

I just want to thank all of you for all your kind words...

this deck is a big blessing for us...

and it will be a joy for years to come...

and God led me to the right men to build it...

the wait was well worth it and God had a plan all along, like always...

the best thing about it...

DH is now confessing this...

I have seen him begin to develop faith...

this is something he has never possessed...

he has been a doubter and self doer...

but on a drive the other night...

he started talking and he said...

its just like you always say, the delay was for a reason...

God had someone better in mind for the building...

see, you never know who is watching you...

how you handle things...

how you make it through each day...

so live by example...

pray for guidance...

and keep your faith...

the deck is more than a deck...

its an  awakening...

a lesson...

and daily reminder that things will happen in God's time...

by His will...

oh, did I ever over do it...

so taking today off to rest up and get my mojo back...

everything is blooming and the day lilies should be coming on later this week..

we need to get the rest of the pavers for here...

and then paint what we can...

the new lumber has to cure one year before it will hold paint...

its pressured treated...

its been a beautiful day here...

low 80s and a tiny little whisper of a breeze every now and then...

there is much to do up here...

more room than I ever imagined there would be...

and this little grass area will be paved sometime, too...

a new thingy we got a couple of weeks ago...

for either a hanging basket or gazing ball...

I did get a few plants up here last night...

and Jean Pierre...

he seems to like his new home...

this brat had just flicked a spider on me...

landed in my hair and then crawled around before I could nab him...

he thought it was funny...

this is the guy who screams for mom when there's a spider in his bathroom...

like a girl!

the joys of motherhood...

well, geez, sitting out here on the deck trying to blog and they are spraying the field behind us...

may have to go in...

the breeze is blowing it away from us, hopefully enough...

and mower guy just pulled up, so I guess its time for me to close the laptop...

well, it really didn't take that long...

with the rain delays and all...

I can't wait until we can paint it next year...

the guys weren't gone 30 minutes and Rebecca stopped by to see the progress...

Craig had some of the furniture up here in no time...

there's more to do and more to tweek...

DH cooked on the grill tonight while I took a quick nap...

I am still tired and glad that things are done...

not sure when we will get it all moved around...

may need a day or two to recover from all of it and get back on my schedule...

got painting to do and stuff to pick up...

naps to take and all that fun stuff...

going around the yard finding things that need to go here to make it fun...
