in the kitchen and a thought, a really good thought...

good morning!

just a quick show of how part of the kitchen was regrouped after the Christmas decor came down...

there are junior mints in that pressed glass bowl...

within arms reach of me when I am at the kitchen table...

put up some snowflakes when we moved the mantle and just kept the garland I used for Christmas for a wintery feel...

and if you look closely...

there is glitter on those dern things...

I am sure Donna is dancing with joy...

;)

I won this on someone's blog over a year ago and just love it...

a little journal, which I will use someday...

but just looking for the right inspirational thing to do in it...

maybe some of my thoughts and quotes that I use here on the blog...

maybe something to pass down to a grand daughter...

if I ever get one!

and DH came home last weekend from my meds run with this little guy for me...

I now have adopted 4 of them officially and they are in the kitchen...

always looking out for them now...

they match my sock monkey house slippers and hat...

I think I need a sock monkey shirt...

and here is your thought for the day...

its still early in the new year to start this...

I think I am going to do it...

I wonder how many jars I can fill up?

well, the weekend is upon us once again...

this year, it has no lights...

and as I find new and fun things...

it sits in the kitchen where I look straight into it from the kitchen table...

that we moved over in front of the north facing windows...

because there seems to be a drafty area there...

I think it needs a sock monkey, so I am on the look out for one with a heart...

the baby is lose and running amuck...

every now and then, I am a victim of a drive by...

just got a load of laundry in the dryer...

need to do some quick pick up and light dusting...

not sure what's going on after lunch...

Craiger woke with a head ache...

so he is getting his shower first...

I couldn't sleep last night so went back to bed this morning...

got up with a stuffed up head...

too hot in here, so got up and it drained ok...

turned the heat down...

been blog hopping a bit, but have more to do...

and then I have this really good book a friend got me for Christmas that I want to start on...

still in the teens here, so not a good day to be out...

not at all...

winter mantle...

oh, the long, dreary days of winter...

are meant to be dream days of what has been and what is to come...

to regroup, reorganize and strategize... 

to imagine all kinds of things...

to set new goals and envision what can be...

resting up for a day when those dreams become reality...

recharging of the mind, body and spirit...

dare to dream...

that is...

until someone sneaks away with your pen...

give you one guess who that is...

dreaming and planning will have to wait until that little pooder takes a nap...

its colder than a well digger's butt here...

and it looks like its here to stay a bit, too...

so off I go to make mischief somewhere else...

our new year's eve...

it began to snow yesterday after lunch...

so DH took me for a little ride around town...

in the snow...

and he would stop so I could get photos along the way...

all of this was in town...

we decided not to do the country roads in case they were slick...

it was coming down pretty good!

and everything still has some snow stuck to it...

this is what it looks like if you are inside a snow globe after someone shakes it up...

it was such a nice drive...

and remember this house that I posted last summer?

isn't it great covered in snow?

found a bunch of squirrels around town...

but he was the funniest...

and that feeder was hanging right next to this one with a woodpecker...

and back home again with our own rose bush...

a pretty pink bloom frozen in time...

there are many blooms on here and the leaves are still green...

no big plans here last night...

we just cuddled the old year out and the new one in...

2012 was a gaining year for me...

more ups than downs...

tons of blessings...

lots of joy...

and some sadness...

but doors closed and others opened...

made new friends...

and said bye to some old ones...

but it wasn't anything we couldn't handle...

and nothing compared to what others are struggling with daily...

so...

it was a good year and I am thankful for it...

let us all boldly step into this new year...

and claim it as a blessing and victory now...

2013...

its going to be awesome!

resolution...

my word for the coming year is going to be PEACE...

my resolution...

to give all the peace I receive from my Father away...

to whoever needs it...

I am going to make peace...

be peace...

do peace...

and that...

I will give away...

and change a world of chaos...

into a world of peace...

one branch at a time...

have a safe New Year's eve...

and I will see you again next year...
