more of yesterday...

we were so blessed last night...

the radar looked bad and they were calling for 80mph winds...

started praying for it to calm before it got here...

and it did...

all the red turned to yellow and then to green on the radar...

this is where that limb came from...

the very center of the tree...

I think that might pierce a roof if it had fallen the other way...

its pretty good size...

the corn is starting to look like corn now...

there were a lot of small limbs down all over...

everything was fine here...

and the watermelon came up...

Craig chased this little one to the safety of the brush by the railroad...

he was confused, we think...

but he's still a baby...

the north lot has a row of trees that are on the railroad side of the line...

and it has many broken limbs and trees in it...

DH and I took a load of sticks to the city dump last night...

others had been there before us...

there were several piles from the clean up...

we haven't gotten all the rain they said we would, either...

so that's a good thing...

no flooding here...

its cooler today, though...

back to sweatshirts...

last night's storm...

it happened so fast...

and I was standing on the deck when it hit...

by the time I got DH up...

it was over...

we have a couple of large limbs down and a whole yard of debris...

but we are ok...

neighbors' yards...

the top out of one of our maples behind the house...

neighbor's back yard...

it fell on the power lines...

raking the small stuff...

took forever...

and ever...

but the mower guy showed up tonight...

we had a truck full of sticks so took them to the dump...

I have more photos, but will post them tomorrow...

so tired...

we can track the storm and people around here say it was a twister aloft...

just didn't come all the way down...

and it went right over us...

we are blessed...

angels surround us and hold us close...

tornado watch until 4am for us...

another night of prayer...

and faith...

they finally opened...

isn't that worth waiting for?

my old neighbor gave me these...

they are just huge this year...

we had clouds roll through all day...

and the wind is something...

but we only got like 30 seconds of rain...

so far...

it was the biggest drops ever and soaked everything in that short of time...

I got in 5 walks today...

or as DH pointed out tonight...

they walk while I ride...

and there was a little feud going on at the feeder today...

Mr. Cardinal didn't want to share...

even though there was a pile of food there...

and its big enough for many butts to be in there at once...

carrots and radishes...

parsley...

Elmer...

this one is a different breed...

and homemade cookies tonight...

and not toll house, either...

not in my house...

these are so much better...

look up Mrs. Fields' chocolate chip cookie recipe...

one batch and you'll never bake any other...

I'm on my second bunch...

we like them hot out of the oven...

we are in a tornado watch until 1am...

praying for God's protection for us, our home, our land and our town...

may this all pass over us and lessen as it gets here...

stay safe and stay alert...

and keep praying...

last night after supper...

I weeded...

and took pictures...

weeding is the best part about gardening...

its peaceful...

calming...

you just need to take your time and enjoy it...

its play time...

not work...

but I do use it for my upper body workout...

there's nothing like getting dirt under your nails...

Tory tried to scoot me off of my carpet sample...

when I wouldn't budge...

he settled in behind me...

the wheel barrow is now pink and white...

but it needs a few more touch ups before it gets any dirt in it...

it was a nice, warm evening...

windy and fun...

just taking some time to be outside before the rain comes in...

its already cloudy this morning...

at least we saw the sun one day...

got plans for making rice and chinese today...

a meatloaf, maybe, too...

cookie dough...
