boy, does time fly...

I have no idea where this week has gone, but gone it has...

hung the netting up here after we got it washed...

makes the best little cat bed...

been feeding the birds...

have to fill up every day now...

you would think they would have bigger bellies...

maybe I should eat birdseed...

got a new baby coming on our street...

mommy is in the hospital right now working on that...

they broke her water right after lunch and are inducing labor...

been working and cleaning and napping here...

and there has been a little excitement on the street...

one of our neighbor's had a fire early Monday morning...

and at 5:15am, we were all down there watching...

they have been working on clean up ever since...

we just got back from our walk and took them a couple bottles of bleach...

we had 4 of them...

the smoke alarms worked and they all got out...

they have small children...

so we were all pretty worried until we found out they were ok...

and our fire department did an amazing job...

they had the fire out in 10 minutes...

saved the house...

and we have had sunny skies...

 but the last 2 days have been humid and muggy and cloudy...

we need rain, but figured out on our walk last night why we weren't getting any...

the neighbor's have a hole in the roof from the fire that they have been working on...

I am sure they have been praying for no rain...

and another neighbor got a new toy...

he's going to restore it...

the inside is in very good condition...

just muggy...

we have only gotten 4 tomatoes that were turning red so far...

thankfully, another neighbor has been keeping us in tomatoes until ours starts coming on...

and are they good...

the king of the cardinals wasn't too happy with us yesterday...

he wanted to take a bath and we were picking green beans...

he told us off...

still have some blooming going on...

and the butterflies are everywhere...

so that's about it from here...

got to do our yearly blood tests in the morning...

so no food after midnight...

where I will be spending some time this week...

too busy today to be out there...

got more work done today...

just a slow kind of piddle fartin' around day...

dead headed the roses and I am just amazed at how much they bloom in a year...

I really want some more of these...

the sedum is awesome this year...

and I noticed the swallow tail butterflies are starting to appear...

they love sedum...

pulled weeds, raked leaves, scrubbed things down...

DH mows this side yard...

so got that done for the week...

took all that rope off of the swing...

and it is not sturdy enough to sit in...

so its the new birdbath base...

I need to find a flat board to put in the seat to sit the birdbath on...

it was a wonderful hang out day...

and we did sit on the deck off an on...

even cooked out on the grill...

should have gotten photos of that...

but we were just too busy having fun...

got a nap in and a trip to the store...

picked up a watermelon...

I need prayers for a couple from here...

they were traveling in Kentucky this weekend and were involved in a 3 vehicle accident on I64...

one woman died and they were air lifted first to a hospital in Morehead and then air lifted to University of Kentucky Medical Center...

I think that's in Lexington...

no word except she was in surgery...

the accident happened yesterday afternoon and the highway was closed for four hours...

I think it was really bad...

I praying we have good news through the night on them and that God heals them...

praying for the staff who are taking care of them...

and their families...

another great weekend...

resurrection lilies are up...

and its been a long day...

didn't sleep very much at all last night and then was up before 5...

had to wait 2 hours for DH to roll out of bed to get started out here...

everything came off and it was all scrubbed and hosed down and then put back...

did a little rearranging while we were at it...

Mr Wiggles approves...

several loads of laundry later, we were doing lunch and I took a nap...

we redid part of the brick pathway and then took a drive...

this is a new monument placed where the high school once stood...

still working on the storm drain that will stop us from flooding again...

DH stopped to get the mail and I took some photos up town...

the center of the square...

just a little country town...

Bebe is serious about cows and he was looking...

but there just wasn't any running lose up town...

we took out 40 bricks with holes in them and replaced them with solid ones...

later, when we get more bricks, we will replace all the hole ones...

right now, they are lining the edge...

the weather is just wonderful for this time of the year...

I really over did it today and not sure if I will be able to do anything tomorrow...

but at least the deck is clean and I can sit out there all day long if I want...

the brick pathway...

we had overcast skies yesterday, but no rain...

so I have been looking at this...

and wanting to change it...

the initial plan was to do another row of bricks on the outside like this row on the inside with the basket weave in the middle...

but I do not have enough bricks to do it...

so I sat down and did this...

basket weave all the way across for now...

see how crooked the concrete walk is?

we didn't do that...

it was already here...

the sedum is starting to show a little pink...

these are month early...

and so are the mums...

I finished the walk right before lunch...

and a migraine had started just before I got down...

on day 2 of it now...

its the weather making it worse...

but today is clear blue skies, so hoping this will be gone soon...

another great day here...

our mums are opening already...

high of 79 today and the rest of the week is going to be between 79-81...

a chance of rain tonight and tomorrow...

started out dead heading the day lilies...

went onto picking green beans...

then pulled the first patch of green beans and cleared up the space...

watered everything and took all the clean linens out and put them back on the stuff on the deck...

broke for lunch and a shower...

took a nap and then cleaned house and did laundry...

supper, a few walks in and a trip to the store so we could make brownies...

those are out of the oven, so I plan on laying down for a bit...

they should be cooled off by the time I get up again...

got 5 pickings of green beans off of these...

no red ones yet...

so another summer day down...

love my kids' tools...

been a busy day...

just went from one thing to another...

Craig had today off, so he helped a lot...

see fall coming?

nice and clean again...

and our cats find the strangest places to sleep...

and that's why this planter has nothing alive left in it...

she is pregnant and huge and miserable...

and she slept there awhile...

 we have to be careful where we walk...

she moves every half hour or so...

just cannot get comfortable...

I remember being like that...

been a long time, though...
