we have a rainy kind of day here...

not much in the rain, but tons of gloomy...

I think it was just enough to keep the farmers out of the bean fields...

we are to get more throughout the day and tonight...

I have Princess Boom Boom today...

her mommy took her to the doctor yesterday and she has an ear infection, so she is on antibiotics now...

she's snoozin' good right now...

I have lullabies playing on Pandora for her...

needless to say, the Halloween decorations are still in their totes...

we will have a nice weekend, so they will just have to wait...

the next 3 months will just fly by now..

see the birdie?

kinda cute for a sick baby...
she doesn't act like it bothers her...
until she sneezed booger bubbles...
hates having her nose wiped...

its her great grandpa that I asked prayers for last night...
still waiting on word...
his daughter took him to the ER last night and then came home...
got up there this morning and they told her he was in surgery and she couldn't find out anything for awhile...
there was a bit of confusion...
the hospital was full, so they found him a bed in surgical recovery...
he needed another blood transfusion and his heart rate was still really high...
she was waiting for the doctor to make his rounds again to see what they were going to do with him...
keep them in your prayers...
cancer is always a bumpy ride...

hope you are enjoying a good day...

Prayers needed...

I need you all to pray for my neighbor tonight...
his daughter just took him to the er with numbness in both legs and arm...
he has stage 4 prostate cancer with 2 tumors in his lower spine...
we are just waiting for some word from there now...

a good time of the year...

much was done inside yesterday and just a dab outside...
this mess is gone...

the radish were still blooming, but I pulled them anyway...

and we dug the carrots...
which I only planted for the foliage...
because they are softer and prettier than the asparagus fern

and even if you don't thin them out, you still get enough carrots for a big pot of veggie soup...

it was a pretty day, not too hot and not too cold...

and it cleaned out waiting for fall decor...

and we moved these out from under the walnut tree...
the nuts are starting to fall...

DH and I went for a drive early in the evening...

as the sun started to sink and cast shadows here and there...

and knowing that soon we would all be going into another harvest week...

trying to rest and take in all of this wonder while we can...

for the most part, we seem to miss fall...
and the wonder of it...

just trying to get through the long hours...

and all the aches and pains that come with age...

and DH trying to keep up with the younger guys...

and the funny thing is, he handles it better than they do...

this is one of the best times of day here on the prairie...

the time when we wind down and rest awhile...
driving around looking at all the work that will be coming later on...

we lost a baby through the night...
he was never very strong to begin with...
never played like the others...
a sure sign of a bad heart...
and he passed in the early morning hours...
he was one of Mira's babies...
so we are down to 3 of them and 3 of the others...
and these all seem to be active and playful...
running and leaping and bouncing around here...

there is a front coming in...
I can feel it in me bones...
stiff, very stiff this morning...
hoping it brings some rain...
even though the farmers haven't really gotten a good chance to get started yet...
I would love to have all the color of fall...
as dry as it is now, it will all be browns if we don't get some rain...

have a good day...
got a baby coming soon and Craig and Britters work from noon until 6 and 7...
going to be a long afternoon for me...
;)

what's a girl to do?

got a cranky baby and facebook doesn't work...
but we did get out this morning...
and I did get some photos...

been all day trying to get them downloaded and uploaded...
but here are our bloomers today...

and the last of the rose of sharon...
so sad...

got another mum here...

had a couple birds at the feeder this morning...

and we picked a few tomatoes...
got a couple of watermelon...
about the size of a ping pong ball...
do ya think I got time?
maybe...
if the weather stays warm enough...
just think...
watermelon for Thanksgiving...

nothing looks real great around here...

severe cracks in the yard...

the flood of fall colors have yet to happen...

and the fields are not quite ready...
remember, we had a wet spring and everything went in later than normal..

and some things just look plain sad...

so you have seen sad, and now pathetic...
a boy and his cat...

one who likes to hang upside down and stills plays with his tail...
Mr Wiggles refuses to grow up...

and a few of the pretty things around here...
using the kids football to decorate with this fall...
started working on the book case on the deck a couple weeks ago and that's all that's been done...
kind of doesn't feel like fall when you are sweating and the ac is on...
we have some cooler days this week and cooler nights for sure...
gotta run...
baby is crying again...
please pray for her...
she doesn't feel good...

have sure grown...

5 weeks old on Saturday...

soon, they will be available for adoption...

they are big and strong...

they are eating a little bit of mom's food...

pooping on their own...

got Princess today so have to hurry...

she is starting to fuss a bit...

so have a fun day and smile at everyone...
;)
