we made it to Friday...

woo hoo!

what a week, what a winter...

and there is more to come...

but even if it was below zero, we had the sun yesterday...

I went out on the deck just long enough to grab four photos...

too cold for me to be out there...

a wonderful neighbor has a plow this year...

and we are having him do our drive now...

so much easier than trying to shovel...

I have always been told to focus on the little things and the big one will happen...

after all, the big things are all the little things added up...

miracles are not always super sized...

look for the little ones...

they let you know the big on is on its way...

I am going to shoot my hubby...

he didn't go to the doctor...

'maybe tomorrow or Monday' he said...

men...

bull headed men...

good thing the baseball bat is buried in the shed and there is a snow bank in front of the door...

not worth putting a dent in one of my frying pans...

pray for him...

he needs some common sense...

and to be smart enough not to shovel the snow from in front of the shed...

I slice a loaf of french bread very thin for my sandwiches...

and you can do 2 for less than one regular one...

and feel full...

the furnace is fixed...

so, the furnace is fixed and didn't cost much at all...

the air intake vent on top of the roof was drifted closed...

so the pilot would keep going out...

so its running again...

never did get cold in here...

16 hours without the furnace running and you would have thought we would have frozen...

nope, sweated, actually...

DH called in yesterday so will be heading in today...

and they will take him to their dr...

since it happened there...

its sore, but not like it was...

just not getting full motion back in it...

Craig made it to work last night and back...

has to work all day today...

so that means I will be home alone...

I did get caught up on my sleep yesterday...

and will be resting for the best part of today...

trying to avoid a flair...

it looks like a bomb went off in here...

I love my guys being home with me...

but, seriously...

how can they do all that?

well, tis too early to be up, so I am off to bed again...

Nika happened here...

well, we are ok...

furnace guy will be here after 4pm...

in the meanwhile...

we are warm...

very warm...

and the neighbor plowed us out around noon...

so all of this has been moved...

and she is covered up now...

the winds are blowing and drifting the snow...

DH's arm is better...

still sore, but better...

he called in this morning because of the furnace...

so they told him if its still sore tomorrow...

they will be taking him to the company doctor in Decatur...

Craig is going to try to go to work at 4...

not sure if he will get there or not...

hang in there...

this cannot last forever...

glad we don't get these winter's too often...

at almost 3am, its still coming down...

the winds will pick up...

and start blowing it everywhere...

roads are terrible and the state is telling everyone to stay home...

everything is cancelled and everyone with any sense is hunkered down...

I would imagine until Thursday at the soonest...

so, asking for prayers...

DH fell at work yesterday going in for lunch...

landing on his elbow and he thinks something in his arm is broken...

roads are too bad to get anywhere, and its not life threatening...

so, staying put for now...

I got up at midnight cold...

so came in and kicked the furnace up a bit...

nothing...

its not working...

the pilot was out, they finally got that lit...

still nothing...

I have the heating pad under the babies...

oven is on, water boiling on top...

and the electric heating running in our bathroom/ bedroom for now...

will move that around as needed...

the guys are back in bed, I am manning the first shift...

no one can get to us...

for now...

asking prayers for those in the south who are in the massive ice storm...

got a special gal that way...

Jettie with the new hip...

tree came through their bedroom ceiling last night...

they hadn't gone to bed yet...

they are ok, but its a long night there, too...

and you know there are so many others trying to manage this storm system...

got 2 more moving in after this one...

prayers for all of you going through this or worse...
