can you see them?

yesterday morning started off very dark and cloudy...
can you see the woodpecker and robin?

a good day to just hang out and rest up...
there's a cardinal in here...

and by mid morning the rain began...
lasted all day...
supposed to rain today, too...
but the grass is getting greener...

news on Courtney isn't very good...
they did not do the colonoscopy...
the cat scan showed the mass in the colon...
they did a complete scan yesterday...
they found spots in her lung, stomach lymph
nodes, liver and the colon...
they gave her 6-10 months...
their plan is the hit her hard with chemo and radiation for 6 months...
then try to remove the mass from the colon...
only 29...
and her and Kevin have 3 very small children...
their son and twin daughters...
she may not see them even start school, let alone graduate or get married...
we take so much for granted...
prayers for them...
they have so much to go through and so little time...
I am praying for a complete healing...
but you never know what God has in mind...
His plans are always better...
He can see things we cannot see...
know things we cannot even imagine...
its in His hands...

enjoy today...
for you...
and for those who might not be able to...

good bye to one of the best...

I grew up watching Mickey Rooney...
Andy Hardy was one of my favorite characters, ever...
and Mickey and Judy were wonderful together...
they just don't make them like that anymore...
you were always guaranteed to smile when he came on the screen...
he had so much energy when he was young...
life was so simple back then...
wasn't it?
I loved his laugh...
;)

a time to rest...

more crocus...
and the yellow ones are so small...
like little butter cups...

Craig got called in early to work, so DH and I were on our own...
had plans to do more, but things just wore me out...

I have days like that...
just before I flair...
so we did some, and then we rested me...

forsythia is budding...
soon it will be such a bright yellow out here...

iris bed...

Craig had raked off the biggest part of this...
we were just doing the clean up and fine raking today...

the rest the mower guy can shred when he comes in a week or two...

and we were out there in the wind and cloudy skies...
a bit chilly and I was glad to be back inside...

but after supper, I went out and sat on the steps...
and it was so much warmer...

and we took a quick 10 minute drive...
the sky was just awesome...

back into town...

and the sun was going down...
we did get the fridge cleaned out, dishes done and put up...
he vacuumed the living room...
watched the kitties pounce on everything they came across...
they were in such a fun mood today...
it was a good day and I didn't flair...
so I pushed it just right...
but today and probably tomorrow will be days of rest...
Craig will be off Wednesday and we are supposed to have a nice day...
so more outside work will be planned...

I do have a prayer request this morning...
my cousin's daughter in law, Courtney, underwent emergency surgery yesterday...
they had to do a colonoscopy and they found a big mass...
and its cancer...
she is only 29, with a set of twin girls who are about 2-3 now...
her blood count was very low, a lot of internal bleeding...
and the last I heard yesterday, they were prepping her to transport to Columbus in Ohio...
a much bigger hospital than where she had the emergency surgery...
my cousin's son, Kevin, and her father were with her...
her mother had the children...
and the rest of the family were just being notified and heading there...
they are in Ohio and I am here in Illinois, so can't be there with them...
so if you could say a big prayer, lots of prayers for my family as they go through this...
trying to save her...
and trying to cope with all that must be going on...
we would be forever grateful...
God is good all the time...
He knows what they need...
and He does answer prayers...
;)

happy Sunday morning...

we had a most wonderful day yesterday...
and a naughty squirrel...
eating the bird seed...

we did get out in the afternoon...

lilacs will be leaving out soon...

this front bed will fill in so much in the next month...

daffodils...
but nothing blooming yet...

there are more crocus opening...

these are the most fun little flower...

so far, the purple are winning...

I have 3 colors...
purple, yellow and white...
so far, no white have opened...

the sun felt so good...

walmart called early this morning...
and Craig is getting ready to go in earlier than he was scheduled today...

they scheduled the guy who quit...
a der moment on their part...

lilies...

and supper last night...
DH and I, when I get dressed and moving...
are going out this morning to burn more leaves...
not a lot, but just get done what we can...
and I need to take a short drive and get a photo of a house for a friend...
I am so ready for the 70s so I can go out and sit on my butt and dig in the dirt...
y'all have a blessed Sunday...
;)

better late than never...

good evening...
see the buds on the forsythia?
in a week there will be awesome!

had 24 hours of a migraine...
started yesterday afternoon...

but finally got rid of it this afternoon...
enough to play a bit outside and I will show you those picks tomorrow...

these are from this morning...
on a trip to the store and post office...
I was just along for the ride...

I met this guy...
he didn't know what the crazy lady was doing...
so he was getting a closer look...

a quick run by the gold course...

and some water shots...

love the ripples...

and this guy...
he is not going to be a cart pusher much longer...
by this time next month...
he should be inside...
in the grocery section...
the assistant manager over that area wanted him...
has been talking to him about it...
and he is going inside...
out of the weather...
with a 20 cent raise and the same hours, maybe more...
he is happy...
I am happy!

I hope you are having a good weekend...
no running for us!
yard work and house work...
but had most of the house work done by the weekend, so there's not that much of that...
beef manhattans for supper...
with cole slaw...
we are on this cole slaw kick...
can't get enough of it...
and goulash is already made for tomorrow, so no cooking then!
we are so blessed...
hope you feel that way, too...
;)
